Communism was born as the counter-revolution to the industrial revolution.
All commmunism did was replace one tyranny with another, as Bakunin predicted it would way back about 1848 or so.
So, in China we have tyrants in control. Tyrants who are abandoning communist doctrine in favor of capitalist economics because it provides them indivdually with riches. They will keep to the rest of their communist ideology because that allows them to stay in power.
Unfortunately for capitalism, when democracy does come to China it will be capitalism that will be seen as the evil that made them all sick and destroyed their country, not communism.
I doubt any recognizable democracy will ever come to China. Democracy is impractical with huge numbers of people.
The Russians are currently dabbling and practically rejecting democracy.
There are a huge numbers of people who participate in democracy today, including the U.S., Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Japan, Australian and India, the biggest of all. And there is more democracy in Russian and China today than there was thirty years ago.
Just wait another 20 years and you will see an increased level of democracy in both China and Russia.
