Does it have to be from god or nature? What if it came from neither, if it’s strictly human and unnatural? I think that is theoretically an option as well.

just had a thought, could conscience be a product of a persons morality, or what we consider socially acceptable?

The fact that all normal healthy minded humans have the exact same basic ideas of morality should say something about Conscience and its universal origins.

We all have an idea and can understand the Golden Rule regardless of nationality, time or religion and this is the foundation of human morality which the vast majority of all societies have based their laws on from the beginning of known history.

I want to view “nature” from a slightly less traditional approach or use of the word. Is anything really unnatural? In this I mean to use the word natural and nature in its broadest sense. Something is unnatural if it is outside nature or not from it, but if nature is viewed as all there is, then nothing is unnatural.

If there is a God who created the natural universe, it is natural.

Regardless of what you believe brought the universe into existence, or if it always did exist; it is a natural universe. It is always naturally changing, expanding, whatever.

I feel like I come from left field when I give the example that all of mankind, our actions, our history, everything is natural. We are a part of nature, not outside of it! So if we blow up all life on earth in a nuclear war, this would be just as natural as if a meteor hit the earth and destroyed all life. Just like it was “natural” that dinosaurs died out.

I guess I get annoyed when supposed “nature people”, or whatever you want to call them, talk about how mankind is raping the natural world. This is true if your view is that the natural world is a world completely devoid of humanity. But I don’t believe it is. At least last time I checked. I say we are a part of nature. And whatever we do is natural, I MEAN WHATEVER WE DO!
