Creative Writing Section...Qs

Why does ILP have one?
Who looks at it?..and why?
What stops you from posting there?
What do you think about it if you do look there?

These questions are on my mind a lot, and I am always very curious to here your views.

Thank You.

I read much of it, and most people are too shy to post poetry or creative writing of their own…

i used to try but i decided to stop until i got good.

Haikus i can do…

They are just fucking easy,

And sometimes stupid…

As an art form there is no rule, there is no good or bad.

I appreciate anything, whether I like it or not, but I never consider anything good or bad.

I think it would be interesting to see how people here would take to writing on it, it is strange because nearly everybody that posts here are very poetic in their posting, in terms of form, timing, shape, and expression, and some are conceptual in their theorising, too.

I can see nice form, timing, and shape in your posts, wonderer, I haven’t read enough of your posts to comment on expression or concept, though.

As for shyness, they are postin under pseudonyms and avatars, so I don’t see how they can be shy or embarrassed.

Why does ILP have one? Well, a fair amount of poetry and prose contains themes that are consistent with the questions posed in philosophy, so it seems like a natural fit to me. It strikes me as a slightly more personal way to experience philosophy. There may or may not be discussion about a particular piece but regardless, you are free to interpret the writing in a way that is meaningful to you personally.

ILP is very fortunate to have some truly excellent writers. Some of that may come out in various threads in other sections of the site, but not everyone is interested in participating in those threads. I think the Creative Writing forum is a valuable part of the site.

I agree, but I’m curious about how everyone here would write, and what about.
