Criteria for communication

I have realised, there is more to communication than the mere application of language.

You need to be talking to a rational being.

It is a truth has been overlooked.

As a person who can see, you won’t be talking to a blind person about the wonders of color that you experience by seeing because they can not see the same way you do.

similar you don’t talk to dogs. or indeed inmates of the psychiatric ward or people with cogntive difficulties or disabilities. or color blind idiots, or left-wing radicals.

As a Catholic Ultra-Conservative Right-wing Racialistic Nationalist, it is my humble opinion that the world has gone mad.

Honestly, get a life, take a good look around you, and tell me race does not exist.

How does one define ‘rational’ without using language? If one uses language to define ‘rational’ one has to assume that one is talking to a rational person while doing the defining. But one cannot do that without first having a definition of rational. Which takes us back to the beginning.

Vive le overfruit!

swing and a miss.

no, I have already explained before, language does not create experience, it describes experience. So you must experience rational, before you can define it.

Old_Gobbo

that seems to be your opinion on everything.

This is paradoxical - one can only make the distinction between language and experience in language.

Strike 2…

nope, you can experience without language. i.e I can experience a colour by which I can not describe with words. you make the distinction between language and experience by studying the history of linguistic development. you don’t neccesarily have to use language i.e read anything, all you have to do is to recall from your past experiences. plus your counter does not make much sense.

you mean strike 2 for you. oh i see, I agree. becareful, in your next reply you are almost guarranteed to be OUT!

Of course, but you can’t talk about, argue about it, construct beliefs concerning it and so on without language.

see above

Counter? 123 o clock, 4 o clock rock?

Is this your best comeback? Come on, you aren’t even trying. Put your back into it, son…

Nope, just for you.
