criticize this short idea about a music video...

Hi, again!

I’m going to make a music video (an assignment we have in school – to create a music video) and was wondering if you can criticize this short idea that I have, all right here it goes:

It’ll be about the boring side of life, I mean we kind of live a robotic life, you born, go to school, have to have good grades, so when you grow up you get a least a descent job, then you work, eat, sleep, work, eat sleep, maybe watch television with a beer beside you, completely meaningless series, marry, have children, work, work, work until you die. And all the working will be so that the company’s boss makes a lot of money. And then we have all the other employees who were born just so they could work at some factory or something. Like humans are all robots… Then we have this almost adult kid who somehow watches this entire process and goes crazy, closes his eyes and when reopened he is in an other world, where there is no machines, no tall grey buildings, no stress/pressure. Just nature…
When visualising, maybe everyone can act like robots with wide open eyes all the time and the camera has a view over a factory where everyone acts like machines so on…
So what do you think?

I mean after watching the video, you may wonder if life can be in another way than what it is like right now…

and btw, the song will probably be “Just like you imagined” by Nine Inch Nails.

I really like the idea your doing, and I agree with it completely too. I saw a video kind of like what you are talking about, on the Animation Show (Which is an incredibly good collection of animations, everyone must go rent this now).

You need to really incorporate a feeling of loneliness and unhappiness with the whole robot monotonous life. Show hundreds of people walking right past each other on the sidewalk, without even giving each other a glance. When it switches to the completely natural world, show aspects of all life living together in harmony.

Life can be different, for the better. Unfortunately…people will never buy into it, because they can’t afford to “miss work”. It’s a great idea and I hope it blows your teacher away. Would you be able to post the completed video on here?

Thanks for the reply, Eclipse! I like the sideway idea, will defenitily use it! That is if the video ever will be done, my teacher says that it requires to many people and time. ](*,)
So unfortunately I’m thinking of getting out the message in an other more simple way, that doesn’t require so much time, money and people :stuck_out_tongue:!
Thanks for reply!
Cheers!
