THESIS: A Rough idea any way
POSTMODERNISM behaves exactly like the mangrove tree. Mangroves in Florida and Mangroves in Vietnam are completely different plants - different genus, different species, yet they look and behave almost exactly the same way.
In the United States, "postmodernism" is A loose catch-all term for two distinct strands of thought Continental Post Nietzschean Philosophy and American Pragmatism and Positivism. The Continental Strand is woven from Nietzsche, Heidegger, Structuralism, Tel Quel literary Criticism, and hermeneutics. the American Strand consists of the first and second generation of pragmatists working out the consequences of Darwinism and the applied science and technology that results from Scientific Management and Defense Industry, ie cybernetics and the work Of Weiner, McCulloch, Bateson, and Ashby (The participants in the Macy Conferences in the 40's and 50's)
Has anyone ever seen the amazing similarity between Management
theory and Literary theory?
Or the similarity between the New Economy Corporation and the decentralized postmodern subject?
Basically Continental thought problematizes capitalism and American thought does not
