How embarrassing to see ILP slip further and further away from the civilized institution it used to be.
Really, if none of the Mods takes responsibility now and correct Magsj’s literally fascist attitude, I think everyone with a sense of ethics should stop visiting this place.
If no apologies and correction are here within 48 hours I will stop posting on ILP and call on everyone to do the same.
Before that happens I want to express gratitude to this site, as well as the hope that it will manage to straighten itself out.

And why would you have us leave without any clear direction as to where to go? I had never made this assumption about you before, but I take it you’re an extreme liberal.
Why would I quit over a paragraph? I have not seen her side of it. Just because you get pissed does not mean we all should. She quite likely felt a valid reason. Anyone that leaves because of your out of context OP probably should leave.

Ive been disturbed by the moderation for some time, and it’s time I draw a consequence, as for me this internet philosophy is quite serious business.
Naturally, I dont expect any of the people here to actually leave with me, but I think people should take a stand, “strike”, make it clear that there are consequences to bad government. But I know that people are in general in favor of designating scapegoats and cozying up to authority.
It’s all really cynical, that’s why I tried to ignore it up until this point.

Whats eerie or just weird is how some mods manner of justifying their actions resembles so closely the Stalinist and National Socialist ways. I dont mean to drag this all out of proportion but it’s an interesting phenomenon to witness, even on this small scale, apparently if youre in a position of responsibility, you feel like the uttering “my actions were in accordance with the rules” really does justify whatever you get in your exited little head.
Magsj would not doubt fit in the nazi apparatus. That’s not an insult per se. A lot of nazis were just in advertising and continuously busy protecting their image, didnt get near the gaschambers and claimed ignorance in retrospect.

It’s not really, but it’s characteristic of American “liberals” from the last 50 plus years. If you want change it’s not enough to just define the problem, but to actually develop sound solutions. The American liberals for example wanted to end the oppression of specific minorities and in doing so they created the oppressive politically correct nightmare we have here today.
I’m not sure they’d have the bandwidth to sustain a massive exodus of ilp members.
