death

My daughters pet cat, Peppy, she insists was not a cat but a lifelong companion, was put down today. I would apreceate any advice on how she should deal with this traumatic event.

How olds your daughter and how long had she been with the cat?

41, 17yrs during which time she was diagnosed with cardiac myopathy and relied on Peppy for solace.

Attachment is inborn… we cannot help it if someone we care and love leave us… the aftermath is very depressing. The human is just ‘emotions’ otherwise he/she is an animal.

Personally I would suggest that she understands death and temporarilism which is what we are made of…I am good today and bad tomorrow… Nothing is permanent… We all want to be loved… and we dont know why… and its best we are ignorant about this fact.

You could go out on a trip to find a really nice burial place.
That worked for my sister, who also considered our cat to be that. We buried our cat in the dunes, overlooking the sea.
