Defining Christ...

As a way of explanation, consider Mani, the father of manichenism. His take was that God was bad because he said Adam and Eve would die if they ate from the forbidden fruit. Meaning, god "lied" (to Moses)

Whereas the serpent was "good" because he told the truth.

Bill, a couple of things.

 1. This thread is pointless.
 2. Your diagram doesn’t count as a contribution to the board.
 3. All of this image posting and placing and all this weird formatting you’re doing makes you seem kind of odd, and it’s a bit offputting to come to a philosophy board and be expected to address simple, mindless pejorative diagrams which have no substantive objective meaning that relates to the inference you’re trying to force.
 4. You are acting out a cliche with the anti-jesus, fallacy laden insult threads.
 5. I’m not religious in any shape form or fashion. Just a conscientious observer of the boards, who likes to point out when things get stupid or start to suck. Think a little more before you start threads. It’s considered bad manners to spam up the boards with stuff like this. Let’s talk about philosophy instead.

Your pal,

Smears

Fuckin’ A.

.

Yeah! Me too!

.

.

Hey, wait a minute.

I’m NOT stopping ANYONE from talking philosophy.

Matter of fact, after looking at your most recent posts, I would encourage you to START talking about philosophy.

As far as the images and spacing I use, I’ve talked, in detail, WHY I do this.

Trust me it’s conscious. It’s philosophical - and it’s generally pretty good.

Lemmie just refresh something for all of you. THIS IS THE INTERNET. IT’S 2012. WE TALK TO EACH OTHER.

If you want to read or write a book - have at it.

Grab a Kindle & start a readin.

Now if you want to attack me to make yourself feel better or feel smarter or feel more philosophical - HAVE AT ME! - You’ll find me right here spewing philosophy as DICTATED BY THE MEDIUM THAT WE ARE IN.

YOU WANT TO GET PHILOSOPHICAL? THEN START RIGHT HERE!

I’m right in front of you! Take your BEST shot!

.

Damn, I missed it. Can you repeat? I’m curious. In honesty, I find it’s generally pretty irritating.

Yes, please enlighten us, oh genius of the net.

He seems to see everything as a potential fight. I find that a bit strange in a place that’s supposed to be for thinking. Asserting a position without foundation then offering to defend it via hostility is the opposite of good discourse.

He doesn’t seem to have very much invested in any statement he makes. Like a retired guy tossing bread out to the ducks, geese and pigeons.

My aologies to Bill and JSJ about the crucifixion aside. I was out of line bringing up that, but could not see if this thread is to be humorous or serious. If serious, I see the comparisons this way: some apples are red, round and sweet. Some cherries are red round, and sweet; hence, some apples are cherries.

Wait a minute…

WAIT a minute.

WAIT A MINUTE!

I provided a thesis with my original post on this thread.

Not only will I WILL support this thread because it’s mine and I will fight for EVERY post I make on this forum.

That’s what you do for a thesis that you believe in!

A thesis, like freedom, can’t fight for itself when it’s attacked.

Yeah know, I started out on these boards asking questions. Just open-ended questions.

NOW I am forwarding more thesis inspired posts. AND I WILL DEFEND THOSE POSTS.

Now, in my opinion, since the time I have begun forwarding thesis centered topics - I have been the one that has been attacked. That’s fine. It’s on!

And I’ll take on EVERY comer.

But, for all of you philosophers here on this thread…take a look at your statements. Are they philosophically orientated towards this post? I don’t know. Perhaps I see something that you don’t.

As I stated before, impressions are the most important aspect of man and certainly THE most important aspect of philosophy.

I’m about to post an example of that.

As far as not attending this post, a member stated something about MLK on the anniversary of his epic I Have a Dream speech. I lost it. They hit a raw nerve. I had to step back a moment and regain my composure.

I’m back. It’s on and I’m standing right in front of you.

Take your best shot.

In other words you will deny all criticisms of your diagram by simply stating that the critics have impure motives or are somehow ignorant of your OP intent. I noted that your comparisons of Jesus with these fictional characters is an equating of some attributes that you see as common to both. These attributes do not prove identity. They are selective; and, to me, as farcical as stating some apples can be cherries.

You start this thread where you say that Jesus has mindless followers.

You start a thread which has a picture with the caption : “FAITH. The Bullets Are Real. Your god is Not.”
And you ask : “If religion strengthens our relationship with our god, and heaven is AWESOME, why the precautions?”

You start a thread praising Martin Luther King, a Baptist minister who was assassinated.

Explain how those pieces of the ‘Bill Wiltrack’ puzzle fit together.

.

Well, the neat thing about my use of that original Venn diagram is that if you philosophically look at the symbolic aspect of the concepts portrayed in that diagram a real representation of our deeply held archetypes.

No disrespect, but I thought I went over this already…

Thank you for your input.

…

Buy the way…anybody that actually wants to approach this topic philosophically, well, the door is still open.

Welcome!

.

That’s an answer???

I suspect that Bill was in politics before he retired and started feeding the philosophy pigeons.

.

All the pieces fit…it, it’s just that I am very mindful of the Bravest Philosopher of Our Time; the GREAT Martin Luther King - ESPECIALLY on the historic date of the I Have a Dream speech.

Looking back on it I think I was too sensitive. Something someone said here on this thread set me off. Sorry.

.

Well you started this thread so the ball is in your court to first define Christ ,

.

Actually my thesis consisted of three balls in the court.

um, my original post…go ahead, take a look at it.

What I’m suggesting that you do is philosophically look at that Venn diagram.

If you feel inspired to comment about it -PLEASE DO SO.

Or you could continue to attack me. Whatever.

…

I thank all of you for your responses.

Are you an anti-triclavinist?
