Dehumanazation through technology

Does technology dehumanize people? I was walking down the streat and everyone was walking with their heads down, on their phones, listing to their Ipods. It is the same in school. People don’t chat to each other anymore they just texted them ( send them a message via cell phone). When i wen’t to the movies the other night, it was so acward to sit next to someone I didn’t know, but yet here i am, talking to countless people I don’t know with no acwardness. is it a bad sign i can talk to strangers on-line better than i can talk to strangers in real life?

Inthink that the most common way to die in the world is through shitting yourself to death.

Technology can dehumanize people but it does not have to. Instead of calling a friend who lives near by, visit them. If you can’t call them. Technology shouldn’t be used to eliminate social interaction, but create new social interaction. =P~

yes, technology has been dehumanizing people for countless of years. we have feet, we have hands… we should put them to more use. man in the 1700s did not have access to computers or phones or mp3 players, we should put our use to these items to there minimum usage.

it is, and it is not a bad sign…

it is a bad sign for if we keep this up, mankind will only communicate via internet, phone and whatever nonsense man comes up with. society will be dead… mankind will die out.

it is not a bad sign, personality wise… lets say there is you, then a wall and then whom you are speaking with. when your face to face with someone you just meet (human kind has evolved into having a judgemental persona) you know this person is judging you on the way you interect and the way you appear, so you are scared because you do not want to be disliked. but via internet the wall is there, and it’s there to hide you.

This says so much more about you than about people Guy. If it is you that cannot talk to strangers then it is only you than can remedy the situation. I do fine with strangers in real life. There is no real difference.

A

Isn’t that an oxymoron?

I would say technology is changing us, but who are we to say whether it is good or bad?

The world is still a huge shitshow, just like it was back in the day. We just have more information.
