Deleuze

Anybody read Deleuze’s “ON Faciality” in 1000 P? I had a really cool discussion with this Heideggarian from Boston College about the folds, givenness, and perspectivalism in which he referenced repeatedly This essay. It’ s one of the ones I haven’t read.

That’s the one…

hermes the thrice great, where would I get this essay? I can’t find it online to buy.

Thousand Plateaus is available in French Culture Institute (FIRC) library in New Delhi. I’m not sure about any online resources for ‘On Faciality’.

'hermes the thrice great’, what is it about someemofag?

Please do post here the links for rare Deleuze resources online.

Here is one, Dualism, Monism and Multiplicities (Desire-Pleasure-Jouissance)

Great idea, dionysian, I still can’t believe someone else hadn’t taken the nick.think the name is awesome.

Haven’t read that one…reading his Logic of Sense right now for a seminar. It’s much easier reading (so far) than Lacan’s Seminar XX.

dasnichtege,
Though I haven’t read his ‘Logic of Sense’ in full certain portions I have gone through do interest me. I recall one instance when he quotes Alice asking ‘Which way, which way?’ in the famous work of Lewis Carroll. This, Deleuze evokes in order to show how sense gets constituted in language. A promising use of literature for philosophising!

all the best for your seminar.

@someemofag
the nick name was reserved for the real person, it must be inferred.
:laughing:

Wow, Considering how dense Logic Of Sense is, I can’t imagine reading Lacan. I’m so glad I’ve given up (for now) reading most Continental Philosophy
But by god I can tell you how high a fire hose can shot a stream of water given its angle of incline and velocity.

lol! Reading texts becomes easier. i find Deleuze rather easy to understand, but that’s after quite a bit of reading. Personally, i’ve found Heidegger’s later works in German to be the hardest, but that’s probably because i have to first translate.

‘What is Philosophy?’ is a good place to start Deleuze if continental philosophy is unfamiliar:
