What system of democracy allows citizens to vote officials out of office?
To answer your question Xanderman, Big Brother for one… and that’s the closest thing we have to true democracy. Unfortunately, I’m not joking.
But realistically, while there’s no political “system of democracy†– that I know of – that enables the hoi polloi to directly vote someone out, the act of voting for someone automatically means that you are also voting someone out of office. We often hear “party X didn’t win the election; party Y lost it”. So with the political system we voting someone out is done simultaneously with voting someone in.
If you are asking “what system of democracy†allows its members/employees/consumers/team/group/participants etc to vote the officials/managers out… there’s plenty. For instance, there are shareholder meetings, businesses, teams, suppliers, groups and associations of all shapes, sizes and persuations.
What I don’t get, is why you suggest my non-serious request needs to be compared with a “system of democracy†which allows “citizens†to vote “officials out of officeâ€. Surely you’re not comparing ILP to a government? Surely you’re not comparing membership here to “citizenshipâ€? Surely you’re not comparing the moderators to “officialsâ€?
Please tell me you’re joking.
