Here i will not argue for determinism but rather i will use it to make predictions about society based on statistical certainties.
principles.
humans do not have innate truth reference frames
humans seek pleasure, avoid pain
humans seek, like evrything in the universe, efficiency
number 2 is the most important and from this one we can conclude that:
humans have an innate desire to control, we are born to control
from 1 and 2 we can concluded:
humans shall believe everything and anything aslong as it is pleaseable to believe it.
knowledge has no true intrinsic value if it is not linked to an emotion (pleasure and pain).
information has no meaning by itself
from 4 and 5 we can concluded that
humans will believe anything that they believe gives them power.
the ultimate goal of knowledge is to have power over
the seek of knowledge is the seek of power
from number 6 and number 3 we can conclude that.
when two beleives gives them the same appreciated power they shall believe the one they consider more efficient
Prediction.
every goverment shall in the end control every aspect of its citizens life.
the most successful religion will be the one that gives more power to its followers.
science will prevail as long as it remains the ultimate source of power
our society wil shift to one based on information
societals models will succeed only if they are more efficient

Is that really all there is to human nature?
How many types of people have you met? Or do you live under a rock?
People’s behavior (as well as all living things) is determined by PHT, “Perception of Hope and Threat”.
Consider that and start over. It gets far more complex, but you must include that “perception” issue;
…what is perceived as more efficient.
…what is perceived as pain or pleasure.
…what is perceived as truth references.
All racism, all lusts, all addictions, ALL behaviors are determined by that one principle.

Exception: those who take the road less traveled.

St.james: I would need to clarify my meaning. In a situation where some thing as in production of some item, a more efficient production method would be more efficient, then by handiwork. Handiwork is less efficient than the methods used in modern production, yet in some commercial outlets, they are more desired. This may be an exception.
Exception: those who take the road less traveled.
Sorry, my reply got sandwitched into the above.
In the situation that you proposed, if the people chose handiwork over something else, or any direction they chose to go, it was because it was by their perception a “better” direction, for whatever reason, right or wrong.
there is more but this is just a general perspective.
you cant say newtons laws are wrong cause they dont explain quantum duality…
