Do we live forever?

Since we are only ever aware of being alive, does this mean, as individuals, we live for ever?

What I mean is that when someone dies, other people are aware that the person is dead, but the dead person is not aware that he is no longer alive.

Does this mean, from an individual perspective, we live for ever?

I’m not sure how you deduced that this means we live forever from an individual perspective?

Been thinking a lot about this lately.

I am alive through my thoughts. For a person think of a joke I made and laugh after I’m dead could hold just as much weight as my lively thoughts now.

Then, if I die, I’m worm food giving life to worms.

The definition of alive changes.

Right now, the idea that my thoughts mean nothing later if I die into nothingness isn’t fully believable. I wouldn’t be anything to contest it, and yet, it would stand on it’s own, then.

Yeah in that sense you can ‘live on’, peoples memory of you, actually ‘making your mark’ on the world and such (though you are dead as an organism which experiences). But it doesn’t seem like that is what THOR is getting at. I’m not sure what they are getting at. If that is what was meant, it is unclear!

or, we die and get reborn every moment, whatever a moment is.

Do you mean,If a person were to be unaware of their death from lack of awareness or perspective, by their lack of knowing of their death, they never died ?
I’m confused but I think if a person loses self awareness in death they lose perspective also, then to their perspective ( or absence of perspective) they
never existed at all.

By far no, imo our soul will disperse, but only in very few cases it may transfer when it’s strong enough to manifest itself.
