Today, I think I put 2 and 2 together on Nietzsche’s overman. The clue is in a quote I remember reading by him, that women know what they want in a man. The overman is that man. Seen this way, if women choose and not their families, man will evolve into this sort of man.
What sort of man do women like? (Let me know if I’m onto something here ladies.) Powerful men, Individualists, Intuitive, Bad Boys: everything the overman is. The concept of the overman is no more complex than that!
It fits both as deduction and Baconian induction.

the great philosophers, as he may have had an inkling of what women really want.)

I think that you have stumbled on the explanation for male homosexuality.
Really though, I think that women are in charge of almost all social domains and they are mostly, across the world, in charge of mate selection. In a community women can decide to shut out the strongest man in the world and that will be it for him.

Women want bad boys because, contrary to sexual mythology, it is actually women who have the greater commitment issues and bad boys give them a permanent socially viable excuse for breaking off the relationship. Women like men with masculine faces while ovulating, because for men to survive the hormones that produce masculine features (jaw, etc.) they have to have a strong immune system and they make good candidates. However, during the non-ovulation period of menstrual cycle a woman will more often be drawn to the gentle neotonous features, a subtler chin, kinder eyes, more childlike or feminine features, because this hints at a man less likely to wander or get in arguments on a daily basis. The most handsome or desirable men strike a subtle balance between the masculkine and the feminine/childlike, such as a Richard Gere. Hint: when your girl or wife is ovulating, grow some scruff. When she’s not, shave, moisturize and chill the fuck out. Talk in a higher voice. Write poetry. Then she ovulates again break out the cat hat and beer and tell her to fuck the fuck off and that she don’t know fuck about shit. Or merely chop some wood. I prefer to be the Behind-Man rather than the Over-Man, or at least the Under-Man, where she would be on top.
Women prefer me to be the Behind-Man because they like my doggy very much. But this isn’t to say that at some point I won’t become the Over-Man and assume the missionary position.

I have a really good feeling it depends on the woman and her upbringing. You cannot stereotype all women to one train of thought. My woman likes the man that I am. I have to admitt that I fall under some of your labels but so does she.
