How many presents does one buys for other people, for the ones who never offered any presents to you?
For me, Christmas is about dinner with my english grandmother at 2 in the afternoon and seeing my dad on christmas eve. It’s meaning varies from person to person, the whole christ being born thing really doesn’t phase today’s generation
If I want to buy something for someone, I just do so and don’t think about weather or not they will buy me something, that’s not that important to me.
i buy presents for my family who i see around christmastime, and for my boyfriend, but it never really happened with friends. i wouldn’t be sure where to draw the line, either - whether it should just be for a few close friends or (which could never really happen) for everyone i end up chatting to in social occasions, etc. on this note, though, i think secret santas are a very good idea for giving thoughtful gifts on a student budget.
