Is God subjectively or objectively defined? If God is objectively defined, then Christians would think God exists in an atheists world.
Is the thing Christians refer to a “God” readily apparent and objectively observable in an atheists world? If so, then why would Christians recognize that one can even be an atheist?
I think God exists in an atheists life. Atheist literally means “without god” and I think that god takes the spotlight in the athiests life because it’s the one thing they don’t have or exist without. Like … if you are allergic to shellfish you have to avoid it all the time, you don’t eat it but you still have to be aware of it
I am spiritual but not religious (though I was born into the RC faith) and others believing in their god does not mean that their god exists to me… I am aware of your faith in your god, but beyond that there is nothing more to know let alone for me/any atheist to have to believe in.
This seems to assume that all things that exist are acknowledged to exist by all people. I think different Christians would also have various problems with the phrase ‘readily apparant’. IOW you are using a straw man argument.
What’s an ‘atheists world’? As to your second question, how does “I think X exists” entail “I don’t think it’s possible for anybody to deny the existence of X”? This makes absolutely no sense to me.
OK. You’ve replaced the idea of an ‘atheists world’ with the idea of things existing ‘to’ different people. What do you mean by ‘exist to’'? If I don’t believe in the Moon, does the Moon not exist to me?
I believe God exists. I believe there are such things as atheists. You seem to be saying there is a conflict between those two beliefs, but I can’t see for the life of me what it would be. People believe in all sorts of things that other people don’t.
