I mean, what is humor anyways? It’s that… transient recognizable connection we all seem to feel at some point or another. Most of the time it involves a type of empathetic conception in which the event is ‘funny’ because you can see yourself in that position, even though you are not in that position. At least generally.
So humor needs a sense of the ‘other’, and that is where we come in. God may have thrown in a couple aesthetic things like the platypus, the giraffe and other such things. But God didn’t know what would be funny… he’s was alone when he was making stuff so we got things like, diseases in which children are born without skin… or… genocide.

Firstly, how does an omnipotent being think? The essential part of humor is the unpredictability and wit, the controversy and stupidity of which it represents. If you control time, the unpredictability of humor is lost. If you are all-knowing and all-understanding any attempt to make anything sound witty or controversial or even stupid won’t serve its purpose. If God, in this sense, is incapable of being struck with surprise - if he has never been exposed to humor (for who has ever conversed with God?), how can he know what it means? Humor is a human matter, it requires a flawed perspective of reality, a sense of irony in relativity to one’s own mortality. Since God is incapable of being Mortal or Imperfect, humor is hence NOT something he would find interesting at all.

A crucial component to humor is irony, and irony is the experience of what would not be expected…the incongruency of what is expected. For God, this of course is impossible, as all things must be predetermined and are therefore also expected.

One could just say you are just being obtuse. Fucking obtuse, to put it mildly in your terms. The platypus is just ok. There is nothing wrong with the platypus’ quiddity. It serves the purpose it was created for.
In an omni-God universe, common sense tells us that God’s daedal skill is made visible through creation - a perfect ensemble, that leaves no way for screw-ups and accomplishes with artistry the purpose for which it was created. We’re talking about telos, purpose, a specific goal, an absolute reference point - and that’s about as far off from humour as it can get.

See if there was a god I imagine it would be laughing its ass off at some of the things done. So yes If there is a god then it would have to have a pretty good sense of humor otherwise this earth would not exist as such.
Apparently platypi are one of the only animals in the world which utilizes electric fields to hunt and find different things.
Their bill is actually part of their brain and has many critical componants in it. It cannot open like a duck’s, rather there is a small opening on the bottom where it’s mouth is.
I understand they actually have venom glands that are functional too am I correct?
Yeah. Males use it (the venom spur) in “interracial” disputes for dominance. Some sort of macho statement. Even though it isn’t lethal for humans, I understand the pain is considerable and it will last a fair amount of time.

they most definately are an awesome creature. I do wish humans could be egg layers it would really make certain 9 months pass easier. Toss them eggs into an incubator and off you go. 
I can think of several pranks to pull on unsuspecting parents. LOL. Hmm perhaps that is why we don’t lay eggs, too many humans with a twisted sense of humor.
