Does God have pride and shame?
We do have some biblical backing to indicate that God is proud of himself and his other self Jesus.
We also have many humans now whom God would see as denigrating his good name. Notably Richard Dawkins.
“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”
Now I do not know much about pride but it seems to me that if some person was lying about me, I would act. From this POV, one would have to say that God has no pride, otherwise he would use some of his well-known wrath against people like Dawkins.
Scriptures show God quick to anger and seek retribution against those who offend him. Yet in the case of multiple insults, he sits back and does nothing. Shame on God for being a pride-less sloth, if that is what he is doing.
Would you allow your good name to be smeared world-wide without acting? Not likely. Does that make God less responsible and moral than you?
Should God be ashamed for not standing up for himself?
Should his pride not move him to act against what he would know to be slander?
