does god tinker with evolution…it looks like it…but I don’t think so…
we have a lot to learn about evolution…especially pre-biotic evolution of the molecules
If God has His fingers in the process there is no way to determine whether He is in the process, because we don’t know what the process looks like without Him.
The most likely way to detect Him would be if something totally different and unexpected happens suddenly. For example, if a giraffe gives birth to a chicken … that’s a good sign of a God.
If God is slow and subtle, then it’s ‘just the way evolution works’.
Which would you prefer turtle - that god tinker with or wouuld not tinker with asteroids?
I think the bottom line here is that we humans be prepared for what might happen - whether it be an act of god or some kind of random act - do we want to go the way of the dinosaur?
phyllo if an asteroid is heading to earth and it will destroy many life forms…do we want to try to divert…I would want to…
but if god is tinkering and wants to change earth… who am I to go against a powerful god
But i don’t believe that. But even if there be a god or one who could, why not use the autonomy which has been built into us? It’s there for a purpose.
Always best to be prepared - god or no god. After all, we are the caretakers of this Earth - and we are made of star stuff.
arc there are persons who govern us that believe god is in charge and he does tinker…they do not believe in spending any money to divert an asteroid because it is gods will…and the ultra-conservative church supports them…
How do you know when God is tinkering and when he is not?
There is spoiled food in my fridge. Should I ignore that fact and just eat it or should I throw it out? What is God intending in that case?
It seems pretty clear (to me) what God expects a thinking human being to do. He wants you to act to prevent suffering and to preserve life.
