Maga disease seems to be closely related to Stockholm syndrome. Not that different from leftism in that way. The trauma-based mind control being used now for mass social engineering seems to affect both political ‘sides’ more or less the same. Narcissism rising; the mind weaponized in all its fantasy and denial mechanisms against all forms of cognitive dissonance which is to say against all possible truth-encounters.

Counterpoint: Do drugs.
Drugs are a universal part of human culture, and you can’t fully understand yourself as an embodied mind without playing around with your brain chemistry a little bit. Drugs are a human experience, don’t deprive yourself of it. Do your research, do them thoughtfully, but most people should do drugs.
Don’t do crack. Don’t do fentanyl. Don’t do meth. Do _old_ drugs. Do caffeine, nicotine, marijuana, ayahuasca, peyote, coca leaves. Drink whiskey. Do the drugs that we have hundreds or thousands of years of experience with. And, particularly for the harder drugs, do them with people who are drawing from those thousands of years of experience and can help you do them safely – trip with a shaman, drink with your parents (unless your parents don’t know how to drink).
When possible, brew/grow/culture your own drugs.
Don’t do a lot of drugs. Don’t make recreational drugs a part of your day-to-day routine. Be suspicious of the shots you take when you go out, the beer you drink after work. Be suspicious of the coffee you drink in the morning, your prescription ADD medication. Often these are fine, but if you’re the type of person for whom they aren’t fine, be suspicious _now_, while you still can.
Drugs change who you are, that’s the whole point. That can be a good thing for letting you be someone else for a while, to see the world differently, to grow beyond your bounds. But you can’t trust that the person you are when you do drugs will do or choose or want what you as your sober self would do or choose or want.
Do drugs, but don’t trust them.

Then why do them?
Apart from the legal ones [caffeine, alcohol, medical marijuana, etc.] I tried half an acid tab when I was 21, once… it was the most boring experience of my life, or it could just have been reflective of me. 😆
