Back in ancient times I could not fathom in my youth as to why people would kill their minds and their bodies with drugs. I didn’t understand at that time about suicide either.
Having been a part of the lower working class for years I finally understand drug usage and suicide although from a observing perspective not that I myself would dwell into either.
Everyday you go to same menial work environment for low pay and out of no reward for yourself where you are stuck into miserable unending servitude of others. Everyday living is one of social isolation and mostly idleness because when you are very extremely poor you can’t really afford to do much of anything outside of your dwelling which in many ways becomes your prison. At some point within a long enough time frame your spirit or life essence along with your mind becomes broken where all that is left is a empty husk of what use to be a human being.
So, how does the lower working class deal with it all?
Actually lets be honest as that term is misleading and too kind of a description.
How does the slaves and serfs deal with this existence?
Through drugs or suicide of course. Drugs to help them endure and bare their miserable misfortune that is their lives.
Upon reaching a by gone conclusion of there being no hope once they view their lives spent where any chance of it getting better never arising suicide is thought as a final exit from a world that has largely abandoned them to their fate.
In a similar paradigm, - drugs and suicide also tend to be fairly prevalent amongst the upper classes - particularly in the entertainment industry where individual ability, looks and/or talent are
more highly regarded than other prestigious positions such as government or business. In this case, the problem often becomes one of psychological isolation and turmoil as opposed to one of
spatial and resource limitation. One can travel all around the world and clothe themselves in all sorts of fancy facades, but there is no escape from the alienating and oppressive effects of human
corruption. The tragically absurd irony is that in both, the alienating oppressor is actually society, - but in one because it is so far beneath them, - while in the other because it makes itself too
elusive to grasp.
Even more ironic is that it becomes almost the exercise of chasing a phantom. The ones who manage to actually get close enough to try to grasp it, are also the ones who find out that there
was ultimately nothing really there to begin with.
To bring in the eternal truths of the mighty Metallica, - “To the game you stay a slave”.
Drugs and suicide amongst the upper classes is not the same as the usage of the lower classes. For one they have everything and really don’t have anything to complain about like the spoiled adult children that they are. At any point they can quit drugs when they want to and everything in the world will still be waiting for them. They exhibit such behaviors out of attention seeking and they commit suicide out of a neurotic desire to be infamous after death or gaining some sort of popular notoriety.
The poor lower working class has no such privileges by contrast. They have no better world to go back to and suicide for them is about exiting a world that has largely abandoned them, but also in many ways despises them as well.
Sure hippy chic, I’ll just go find the nearest tree and hug it where afterwards everything in the world will become instantly just fine overnight. Silly girl…
Consumerist propaganda aside it’s all about power and influence my dear girl.
If you can’t understand that you’re already lost and you will endure much suffering in the future because of it.
In case you haven’t noticed, this world is devoid of all spirituality.
Have fun as a future welfare recipient and eventual prisoner of a government concentration camp once the iron curtain comes down. Maybe with like so many others the drugs will help for awhile…
Ty, drugs are predominantly used by the young, elders tend to drink. Suicide knows zero boundaries.
The poor use stuff for escape as do all others. Imagine being wealthy surrounded by leeching humans that are around you for your wealth. You are alone, you can’t trust those around you. When someone says they love you, its probably your wealth they really love. They are stuck just as the poor are in their own way. Middle class also have their walls that cause addictions to drugs and booze.
Misery is not just part of the poor. Deadends plague all.
Savage but, also giving and caring. Its easy to find bad or good it just depends upon how you look. I would kill another human in a heartbeat if I had to and do so without remorse. I will also help a stranger. I can be both violent and caring, I can screw over a person that deserves it, I can also defend a stranger from being screwed.
Some allow the worst to rule some allow only the best to rule, most balance both sides.
