Could it really be that the prohibition of incest is the very thing that allows epistemology to come into being? Dunamis asks this strange question in “Epistemology and Incest” at forums.philosophyforums.com/thread/20568
Dunamis seems a wise man. I wonder though, when we begin to see him as mad; does he in all actuality surpass us in wisdom for the time being or does he truly become mad? [that is, madder then the rest of us - or perhaps even less mad (then the rest of us)]
What led to my epistemology was my dislike of my mother, ironically, so I never got around to having sex with her…but I recall one of my first philosophical elucidations involved the pondering of questions like “why is she so stupid,” and “will she ever stop complaining,” and “is this why my father couldn’t stand her,” etc.
I responded to him and he was quite cordial. Naturally we will always disgree on the essential point we disagree on but we respect each other’s differences.
It would be nice if everything could be so easy and without the ranting.
On searching “ilovephilosophy” in Google I saw a page that had the name Dunamis in. So I thought I’d see what he’s up to these days but when I clicked on the link the person posting under Dunamis had an old avatar of TheAdlerian’s and also spoke like him to.
