Having tried and failed fairly frequently to stop smoking, I thought I’d just say bollocks to it and admit a need for nicotine.
Anyway, there are a number of e-cigs available, I’m going to buy one, I was just wondering if any of you guys have tried any and if so, which is the best…?
Hi Tab, my sister-in-law who has been a heavy smoker since her teenage years is presently on e-cigs. She has related to me to be the most beneficial alternative for her quitting issues. I don’t know the brand she is now using, but her desire for nicotine has greatly decreased since she has started it.
I tried Blus (http://www.blucigs.com/) and they didn’t quite make it for me. (Although I admit it was more curiosity than a genuine desire to quit.) Nothing beats real tobacco. I’ve made peace with my vice. Less than a week and I was back to good ol’ Luckies. It’s toasted. (And will kill you.)
Why not switch to nargile? It is more of a long meal than the quick snack of a cigarette but, well, that is the point, isn’t it? I am told the Turk has a particular fondness for denser, unflavored tobacco in their shisha, so it isn’t like to have to swap out that nice, rich tobacco flavor for the mintiness of double apple.
UPDATE: I absolutely dig this electronic cigarette so far. The sought-after throat/lung feeling from smoking cigarettes is 100% attained by e-cigs. On top of that, the nicotine keeps you well satisfied.
If you smoke it consistently, you will find that your desire for tobacco is 2% of what it was before.
The chemicals seem to provide a portion of the buzz/addiction with regular cigarettes, which is why people often return to them.
I think part of the problem is that when someone gets an e-cig they just sit there and puff it all day. What you need to do is take smoke breaks just like you normally would, but substitute the e-cig. Get the psychological part of the addiction up to speed with the new and improved habit.
