You know, Carleas, other websites give the option of disabling emoticons and such. Could this not be done here?
I feel you, I usually turn off emojis too.
As far as I can tell, in Discourse it’s a site-wide setting with no option to disable them for a single user. You can disable notifications for reactions to your posts (set ‘Notify when liked’ to ‘Never’), but you’ll still see them.
I’ll keep looking, but I’m not even seeing many requests for the feature, so I’m not optimistic that there’s an easy fix.
