Empty can be good. It can rejuvenate you when you are overwhelmed, and let your mind rest when you’ve got too may thoughts spinning out of control. Aloneness doesn’t have to be lonely if we don’t let it. Enjoy the emptines, but call it —> your little slice of peace.
Life is work, rest rejuvinates right?
Bessy help me see somthing,
maybe “Kristalyn” has alot on her mind and it makes her feal tierd or somthing.
Its kind of weird for me to hear people talk about their deeper thoughts or fealings, because i dont always get it right away.
People have their own little understanding and meanings for each word in english, so “Emptyness” to me is like when you dont get what you need inside of your soul. I think she likes to have space, its like being in a big room instead of a cluttered little box. But i dunno much antil she reply…
its a she right? is that avatar a picture of your real eye?
You want a glimpse, just a glimpse, of what emptiness is? Imagine not having a soul. Imagine: there is no soul. Try that for reality and you’ll get a tiny glimpse of what emptiness is like for some.
Kristalyn,
Perhaps this is why the poets must not use abstract words? We certainly understand what we mean when we use the word emptiness or love or any other such word, but to the reader, it means almost nothing. Is it not a poets job to guide readers through the emotional experience by utilizing figurative language and metaphors, and by building concrete imagery?
Like, for instance, “his self was shattered into sharp and roughly edged fragments, like an empty glass bottle thrown against the wall of naked reality,” as opposed to saying, “his self was fragmented and consumed by emptiness.”
hmmm… I like that, I think I’ll use that in a poem. Sorry, I know I’m a dolt, I’ll leave you alone to do your thing now – don’t mind me.
