This was a duplicate of my other thread. I could not delete the thread, so I left it empty.
Guys, you really don’t have to participate in empty threads, they were not intentional.
You had three of them, for me the way they were sequenced was irrisistable to my humor

What about in matters of deterrence?
If we say rationality is that which either increases utility, or at least prevents the minimum from being lowered, then we may say that we intend to respond to nuclear attacks with more nuclear attacks.
If the one that hits us is devastating, then we look at the rest of the world and decide to devastate them back, then we would be decreasing utility and thus being irrational.
But to form the intention might be rational because until we’ve been struck with a nuclear bomb, utility is relativley high and making such a threat may be the best way to keep it from dropping.
The threat would have to be real for it to work.
So I think that you can rationally form an intention which couldn’t be rationally fulfilled.
