Hello all
This thread will discuss the existential reasons for dreams and the signigicance it has to humans ie. identity. As you may know, this is a continuation of how does a red dot discover another red dot which if needed i will simply refer to as “rdt” short for red dot thread…the reason for this new thread is that rdt dealt with the birth of existential identity, while this thread will deal more specifically with the existential relationship between dreams and our identity.
As you may know, existence is greatly made of nothing and something. Being that we are humans, we ourselves are made of nothing and something as well. To account for the fact of nothing and something in existence there must be a showing within our lives of something that strictly represents this dualism. something that is absolutely necessary and permanent. When thinking about time and memory- we must also think of its perfections- that is, how perfect is this “time” that we live in or how perfect is our specific idea of “time”?..other questions such as, what “amount” (example: duration) of time may a memory of a certain “strength” last? what about the memory of our identity? certainly you will agree that our identity is a form of memory in of itself. what sets apart identity as a memory from the day to day memories we have- such as the memory of the very words you are reading now? remember we are speaking of identity at its core- the supporting pillars of its foundation.
When going back to our significant showing of nothing and something within the lives of humans, it is very clear to see that we spend our time in 2 specific states, that is, the state where we are awake and the state when we are sleeping and of course anything in between. the blending of sleep and wake is resemblent of the blending of nothing and something. many may think that we simply sleep to reenergize our bodies- (remember i am not a doctor- my words are not to be taken as “medical” advice in any way- these discussions are purely of an existential or logical nature only)…i have found that this is not the primary reason for our sleep! in fact, you may realize that we do sleep for less than half our life (im not sure what the actual percentage is- but i know it is a significant amount of time as we all can see…please do not become occupied with how little or much one may or may not sleep) -realizing this we may see that it is absolutely necessary for us to sleep, that is, that after a certain amount of “time” we will eventually fall asleep. now i am not an expert in biology but to my understanding…there is no organ that needs to be altered in position for a duration of time amounting to half its life in order to survive. in fact our organs are all protected inside of our bodies. now our skin may be affected of course if we were to lets say, stand on our feet for our entire lives without ever resting them and i would assume our bones may be affected and what not, but the point is that the duration of time for the body to last without rest is far far far far much longer than the duration of time for the conscious to last without rest. that is, if you were to lay down in bed and watch tv for hours upon hours and were somehow able to continue giving yourself energy (like some one bringing you food) and all you did was just lay in the bed all day- you would certainly fall asleep before your body decomposed from laying down too much right? (that is, if laying down or standing too much causes decompostion- lol-) so then why are we really falling asleep??? it is certainly not because our actual limbs and organs need rest, because they (our organs) must actually continue to work constantly for our entire lives until we die!!! (for example- if our heart rests- we die)…therefore it is very very safe to say that we sleep because our brain needs it…and of course knowing that we spend half our lives sleeping tells us that it is certainly because something in us needs it.
Now thinking about what we actually are doing when sleeping is our next step…we may see from the knowledge given above that it is not our bodies that have this irrevocable desire to sleep, so we know it is our brain…when looking at our brain we may see that identity never actually gets to rest- obviously whatever parts of the brain that need to rest will be doing so but we may see that our identity never truly rests. imagine if we were to dream all night- we could have had beautiful dreams the entire night and our identity would always be there in our dreams- that is, we never lose the sense of “i” (for a dream can not take place unless through the scope of identity’s eye nor may any feeling or emotion take place unless from identity within the human species) and lets say somehow magically, we remembered all of our dreams from the night and we felt completely rested, refreshed, and rejuvenated- it would not feel like our identity needs to rest. we would in fact feel perfectly fine…this tells us something very important, since our identity never truly needs rest, it would mean it does not operate on energy- therefore identity is greater than existence itself, now what does this mean? this tells us that identity can not be destroyed by existence- nothing and something. this may actually be hard for some to understand. you may say to yourself- well just because identity does not need rest does not mean it is greater than existence…look at the heart- the heart does not get rest and yet it is not greater than existence- this is true, but we must realize that though the heart does not rest in such a definable way as the brain does when transitioning to sleep, it does receive constant atp or energy and each usage of an atp molecule can be looked at as a “resting” period and it is also easy to see the slight pause of rest after every beat that your heart takes as well…whereas our identity itself does not use atp because the use of atp takes “time” and identity is ever-present- meaning it is always present and never has time to do anything else but be present- that is its job- to be greater than existence…in other words- if your identity used atp or maybe even some lighter more efficient source of energy it would then need to forget for at least the slightest duration of time about itself- but that would be impossible because identity is our core…meaning identity is our first gift from God. being that it is the first gift it is the most pure because it is that within us which came directly from God. this is why it is greater than existence. our organs and cells would not be able to constantly rejuvenate or reproduce- using time- unless there was something within us to monitor it the entire time- something that it itself did not use time nor abide by time and was therefore able to keep track of time itself- our identity.
Our identity being God’s gift to us and therefore being greater than existence is our constant reminder that we have perfection within us. of course we must know that imagination is birthed from identity…our bodies as embryos grew from the birth of identity first.
many of you may remember the knowledge i presented about the “difference” that must be created by God in order to create existence (God creating a difference or “nothing” or a lack of himself or evil in order for existence to be possible). you will remember that this difference called existence continued to evolve until humans were created. and as humans we have tried to copy God -because he is our father and we are his children we naturally would try to copy him. what we have done is we have created our own little difference! this difference is within ourselves and we go to it every night when we sleep. this difference is called fiction! that is, our dreams are created by our identity. while the rest of our brain is resting our identity has “nothing” (literally “nothing”) to do and so creates out of “nothing”. but identity can only use what we already know so that is why everything we see in our dreams is always something that is familiar (meaning has 3 dimensions and is of existence- no matter how magical the dream may seem it will always follow the laws of existence seen in reality because the dreams will be based on ideas from existence- which is 3 dimensional)
you may ask yourself why did we copy our Father and try to create our own little difference?? the answer is easy
we created our own little difference within ourselves so that our identity can remind itself of the difference between fiction and reality (nothing and something)
this means that by our identity creating a dreamworld it has now created fiction and it therefore becomes “imaginary” opposite of real- therefore a difference is created. because of identity being able to create a dreamworld it then becomes possible for identity to keep a hold on the difference between fiction and reality- this is our most primitive or basic or existential way to copy the difference between nothing and something!!!
what this means is that existence was created because God created nothing- meaning he created a difference and because he created a difference we were born. and once we were born from God’s love we did what God himself did- we created our own little difference so that our own identity’s could be born
that is…the difference between reality and fiction is our identity or its core!!! you may say to yourself, that’s rubbish- our identity is not dependent upon dreaming- our identity does not need to be reminded of the difference between fiction and reality (nothing and something)… you may say to yourself that if we could supply ourselves with infinite energy then we would be perfectly fine without sleeping…and you would be right- but not for long- in fact i believe that since our identity is our very core that if we were to completely lose it our brain would completely shut down and we would die. therefore if too much time were to pass without our identity strengthening its memory of the difference between nothing and something- time or nothing or space itself would begin to fill into our identity’s memory of the difference between nothing and something or our identity itself or its core (since it is fair to say that our identity itself or atleast its core is simply the difference between nothing and something).
now dreams are not necessary for identity itself being that identity is greater than existence but it is necessary for our body’s hold on identity as identity begins to grow from birth- and if we lose our identity as i said i believe our brain will shut down and we will therefore die so it is actually necessary for us to dream in order to live(in all reality, if time or space or nothing were to fill into our identities it would not destroy idenity itself but instead it would destroy our accumulation of it- not even death destroys identity- it simply does not allow it to be itself as we “know” it unless within a soul -which i will get to later-(upon death without a soul identity is as good to us as “nothing”- and yet even though it will be “nothing”, it is still not the same thing as it being destroyed)- therefore theoretically the only way to destroy identity would be to somehow not allow someone from falling asleep- i believe their identity would separate before their very eyes but i dont see how existential means could ever make it possible for that to happen- you would probably need an infinite amount of energy to keep someone awake during the dissipation of their identity- very creepy). this also means that the difference between nothing and something is necessary to learn and speak and use knowledge- breathe and everything else we do starts with the difference of nothing and something in our identities…(to clarify- our identity is greater than existence but the only way for us to use it within existence is through our body. one can say that our body is an extention of our identity and means for it to exist…in other words our identity, because it is greater than existence needs something that is of existence or not greater than existence (our body) in order for it to be able to operate on existence’s level- for that which is greater than existence can not be affected by existence and therefore can not affect existence unless by way of God- when looking at it in this specific way, we are allowed to view the “body” as a gift from God and identity the recipient…but i do not reccomend it as an “immediate option” because we must remember that it is through the body that identity is able to realize itself- yet without identity the body would not exist in the first place- it is far safer to view life as we know it our body, soul and identity and the entire world in it or around us as all being a gift from God- for we must realize that they all work hand in hand- once one truly understands this- then he may look to see that identity is greater than our body)
the fact that “active”(identity beyond its core of difference) identity may only come from existence and existence is belief in higher power and belief in higher power is love- shows us that “active” identity may only come from love and that even though love comes from God, “active” identity itself comes specifically from existential love learning the difference between God’s love (something) and nothing (evil)…this is why identity can not survive unless it is constantly reminded of the difference between nothing and something- it is because the difference between nothing and something is its very core or source of power!!! now identity is not to be confused with the soul. identity itself is greater than existence because it can not be destroyed by existence while we are alive but that does not mean that it will still be “something” or “identity” when we are dead. that is what our soul is for. our soul is that which our identity is born from but in fact is weaker than our identity until we reach active belief in higher power which will strengthen our souls until it is greater than our identity (in other words- our soul is greater than our identity before identity is born but once identity is born it is our soul that uses identity to do its truest growth). our soul is of a purer form of love or memory and that is why it takes more time or love to grow than does our identity. in fact it is our soul that is still something when we die and it is our soul that will contain our identities. as we are able to strengthen God’s love within us (our identity) we will be able to transfer more and more love or pure memory to our soul…therefore having a greater identity strengthens our souls…we must remember that the difference between nothing and something (identity) is the first form of conscious love possible- if this pure love can be strengthened identity will transfer it over to the soul…what we must remember is that out of great and great amounts of love there will only be droplets of pure love squeezed from them and that is what the soul uses to have a better or clearer image of our identity and remember our identity consists of all our memories…it is purified love that we are constantly trying to extract from existential love or memory and it is this purified love that creates and allows the soul to create an immortal memory of our identities and so the more pure love we extract from life- the clearer our image of our idenity or the stronger our identity will be and in after-life a small difference between the clarity of two soul’s identities could mean infinities of difference (we must remember that the transfer of pure love from identity to the soul is not possible until active belief in higher power is reached- we must remember that a hope of higher power or after-life is greater than any existential hope that is possible- this is why it is active belief in higher power that may only open the pathway from identity to the soul…all other hopes are existential and therefore do not conquer existence instead they are hopes dealing strictly with existence…this is why it is very important to teach children about God as soon as possible- we must also remember that true intelligence only comes from active belief in higher power…another side note is that we, by way of sexual reproduction and use of our existential love can create identity (children/offspring) but it is only God that creates the soul …scientists must beware of this…scientists should also beware that it is “possible” that we will technologically create everything we can- but never life- no matter how technologically advanced we become, we will never be able to create life- our closest imitation of such grandeur is reproduction- our greatest gift is knowledge of such things so that we may cherish life and teach our children and others around us the same and share in love with them the beauty of life and together in joy, gratitude and humility, but most of all love, give thanks to our Father)
but one need not die in order to see the differences amongst those with stronger identity’s or souls in fact we can clearly see from existence that many people seem to radiate energy in different, some better, some worse, some dimmer, some brighter ways. if we open ourselves up to the revelations of differences between the souls of different individuals we will see the differences at once. those filled with great love will always have eyes that shine brightly… i end with a famous quote im sure you all know…
“No man, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar, nor under a basket, but on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light. The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
