It’s a strategy that’s even deeper than it looks. Because, on one hand, one looks at the architects of the strategy (many tiers above this guy), who are extremely intelligent, and one cannot trace how such a idiotic approach would even occur to them. And the reason it did is:
On the surface, it is a good strategy because people are, in fact, idiots. But the deeper level is that, because the approach seems only imaginable to an idiot, it has a profound disarming effect on the architects on the opposite side. A Kissinger, say, looks at the Vietcong PR, and thinks “this is completely idiotic, an idiot came up with it, and nobody will buy it.” By the time the ploy has had its effect, it is too late for Kissinger to respond. And, further, they continue to look like idiots.
You just don’t see them coming. While you are still processing the shock of something this stupid being even attempted, they have mobilized, occupied and established themselves.
Quite the vicious little warmonger aren’t ya?
Well, the side I support didn’t make pyramids of the skulls of the women and children they executed.
But to even have to spell that out is all the proof anybody should ever need of the efficacy of the strategy.
Yeah, I’m sure that’s why the US stuck it’s big, fat snout in: to ‘save’ the people. That’s why it pardoned and lauded the My Lai murderers, and deforested what was once pristine tropical rain forest. You do realise that Cambodia and Vietnam are different coutries don’t you?

The period in most of Southeast Asia that followed US withdrawal is one of the most horrific in human history.
Try telling that to an idiot. My side is handicapped.
Gee. I wonder why
You must be a huge fan of JFK then, the Democrat
Trump had a similar effect to what Reagan had, in the sense that it showed us that we do have the numbers to fight.
Anybody that has it in them to become a socialist is already diseased tissue. All you can really do is cut around it. There are no psychopaths on my side, so this is a lesson we are learning slowly and carefully.
Sorry, I have you on ignore, so your replies don’t appear straight away.
The US went in because the Kennedy administration received intelligence that the communists there, who an idiot like you might be surprised to learn did not observe national borders, were up to some despicable shit. Being militarily incompetent as he was, he did what any naive person would do: send some experts to help out.
By the time it inevitably snowballed, the now all-round incompetent Johnson was president, and he just thought of it as a pie and we’ll send in a slice. I don’t think a single general of the time didn’t think sending in a half assed force to deal with organized, well funded psychopaths was a terrible plan.
Kissinger inherited a full blown war. Which he conducted admirably, except for that idiot strat that did him in which God bless him nobody can fault him for. Also he had that coup on Nixon to deal with and it just got taken out of his hands.

One consequence of that war that I do view as a good thing is the effective end of conscription in the US.
An armed force should be professional, down to the foot soldier.
Yep. Always good to get those who want to make a living out of slaughtering people, especially when they are clean, sober christian soldiers who’ve never taken those pesky ‘peace and love’ psychedelics
They are just people like everybody else. Many of them have done a bunch of drugs.
You think acid makes you a genocidal socialist? No. If you’re a decent person you’re a decent person.
Where did that come from? It does the opposite, which is precisely why they were demonised in the 60s and have been ever since.
You mean for example by actively ending resistance to the communist genocidal project in Southeast Asia?
It’s true that it can break weak minds.
It doesn’t break minds you idiot.
Or Kroppy here, who also probably should have never touched it.
It exposes you to your subconscious, and not everybody survives that fully sane.
When a person goes insane, that’s it. They have hardwired some part of their subconscious, and they are now an idiocy producing machine.
Or to put it in terms more amenable to hippie speak:
It opens your mind. But now you are responsible for all of it, and most people are not ready for that responsibility. The opened mind spills. And there are enough experts out there, ready with vessels to catch it in.
Never used it. I grew up in the demonisation era of cuntface, warmongering America.
