MUNICH, Germany (Reuters) - Europe’s growing army of robot workers could be classed as “electronic persons” and their owners liable to paying social security for them if the European Union adopts a draft plan to address the realities of a new industrial revolution.

The article says that companies who use robots to replace human workers would need to pay into existing social security programs to compensate for their profits gained by reducing human workers (I.e. laying people off). That makes plenty of sense. Further it explains that this could also establish funds for paying out damages caused by robotic workers. Also nothing wrong with that.
If a huge corporation replaces 1000 people with robots, don’t you think they have some social obligation to pay for those laid off people? Especially since those former workers were paying into social security and now they’re off the payroll, replaced by robots who obviously don’t pay into social security.

So, what defines “a robot”. Can “a robot” be controlled by one supercomputer, with no clear point of discrete, autonomous differation,and be the size of a factory, pumping out mass goods, while a much smaller shop, a mom and pops making cakes, might use one robot to frost images of photoes on cakes 40-50 times a month… both would have to pay tge same rate.
Worst, China and India and the US have no such intellectual confusion, and will refuse to handicap their businesses similarly. Most of tge wealth and tech businesses will have to flee to those piwerhouses, as Europe adjusts to working wood in guilds as a third world region once again.
And if that happens, we won’t share our medicines with you anymore, as you eill be no different than Africans and Central Asians in terms of payment. But we will join in and lend emotional on AIDS rallies and poverty marches to save Europe.

Considering this very near future environment, what is exactly the future of money? Hard money, currency backed by gold and silver, won’t be of any help either since jobs cannot be created. Considering that such an important matter is not debated by the media daily, most are not prepared for what can be summarized as the end of society as we know it. One can discuss at length AI and the threat it may represent, but one thing is more than certain is that AI will be at the image of those who created it (and whose need for mass control is unlimited) and the Collective’s reaction to a chaotic change of perceptions. Regardless of whether societies decide to outlaw the progression of Knowledge and impose upon themselves to return of a 1800s lifestyle or embrace the consequences of navigating uncharted territories, there is no way around it: a crisis in Consciousness awaits mankind. This crisis isn’t new at all, it has always existed deep within our fragmented self but so far had remained completely silent, insidious, and now on the brink on an inevitable ‘inner revolution’.

As soon as these robots start killing, when they are employed in the police force, which is what they are being produced for (obviously), they must have legal rights. They must be protected from being shot at, as people will normally respond to such terrifying monstrous piece of shit by trying to kill them.

It’s a very natural evolution of the development of automated robotics and computer technologies in general. I can’t say I am happy about it, but I also don’t understand how anyone could be surprised. In fact I am only surprised it hasn’t happened sooner.
If artificial intelligence is inevitable then perhaps as I’ve always said and have stated humanity’s destruction by its own hand is also equally inevitable. For me artificial intelligence and the technological singularity marks the beginning slow death of humanity resting upon an absurd ideology that describes itself as progressivism.
