And what does this say about the asshats who vote these clowns into office? I’m from the reddest of western red states, and I look around in absolute wonder at the abject stupidity of way too many of my fellow citizens. Being a gentleman, I won’t mention any looney tunes congressperson who is on our intelligence committee… :-"
I heard, im not sure if it’s a particular species or all Ducks, but apparently male duck are so Rpae happy that the females have developed diversionary vaginas to make sure the only ducks getting them pregnent are the ones they like.
But I’m quite sure human women do not have such a thing.
When will middle aged wealthy white male politicians realise that making public statements about women being raped, no matter the context or whether what they are saying is true, is always going to result in a backlash?
When will Americans do something about the fact they have literally the worst selection of politicians in the world? And I don’t mean ‘literally’ in its current popular misuse meaning ‘a superlative I cannot currently recall’ but in the literal sense. And I don’t mean ‘literal’ in… you get the idea.
I’ve tried to think of any country that hasn’t a collection of politicians that wouldn’t fall under the category of “human protoplasm gone bad”. But you’re right. The U.S. seems to have more than it’s fair share of brain dead people in public office. Hopefully, we can move from insane to merely stupid this election cycle, but I’m not counting on it. It still disturbs me that the voters who put these morons in office are actually out there in public. I mean, I might be standing next to one of them at the post office, or sitting at the table next to one of them at a restaurant. It’s scary out there.
I’m not sure which statements you’re including in this broad generalization, but the particular statement to which the OP’s article refers was an off-the-cuff, no-basis-in-truth blunder, plain and simple. I’m not sure how your comment has any application here at all.
JT,
I’m good with my blue state heritage, but yeah, Minnesota has voted in our share of disgraces, she’s not our first embarrassment and won’t be the last.
And I agree, our voting populace is woefully undereducated on what the candidates actually stand for and what kind of people they are - how DO all of these people get into positions of power in the first place? That IS indeed scary.
It has echoes of the statements of Ken Clarke, current Minister for ‘Justice’ and long-time Bilderberger. I’m sure there are other cases whose details aren’t coming to mind. It’s just one of those topics that, understandably, inspires strong feelings and therefore an inappropriate subject to talk about in public if you’re an isolated, alienated egotist (particularly a white middle aged male isolated, alienated egotist).
I think a lot of those votes are probably made up by the electronic voting machines (a laughable concept in any representative democracy). I wouldn’t worry too much about the people at the post office. I’d worry more about the ones you DON’T see at the post office, if you catch my drift.
You all really don’t know how we get these winners? Ok I will tell you what my high school Govt. teacher taught us. High pay, no work, paid to advertise self=lazy narcissistic educated bums. And there you have politicians.
