Everyone has their problems. You live in a small town in Africa, food is scarce. You spend the whole day hunting but only get one kill.
your a lower/middle class secretary living in Chicago. You don’t have the money to pay the month’s rent, and your forced to live in a run down hostel for several weeks.
It clearly seems as though one of the fates is much worse than the other. Consider some of your worst personal problems in relation to such people in Africa. Some problems that may seem major to you, may seem like a piece of cake for someone else.
I think people experience problems, but all the people suffer on a somewhat equal level based on how they were raised and that sets the level of what they consider real problems. Based on one’s own experience is how people react to problems. How strongly they are emotionally affected by it.
My point is, we all have problems, that, to us, seem as bad as it can get, whereas to someone else it seems like nothing at all. So do we have any right to point the finger at someone who we think has it easy where in reality they suffer a subjectively equal amount that we do.
Neurological inborn genetic condtions are also a large factor, which determine the potential extent and degree of both emotional and physical pain. What depresses one person, makes another laugh, and the degree of one’s pain-nature is quite paralel to the particular race.
If I can remember correctly [though I probably forgot the exact country], Nigeria was a nation or state which had some of the highest levels of happiness or contentment out of all of the people on earth. This goes to show that being in a wild somewhat meager african life, does not equate to suffering, at all. Also I have heard that the black race, although having lower IQ and being more prone to violent crime, have more emotional stability, more resiliance towards traumas, less pain, certain hightened physical strength, perhaps also larger penis size? I’m not sure how exactly reputable the sources for such sayings are, but in a sad era of castrated sciences, this sort of idea is forbidden.
They liberals would instead have you believe that everyone is the same and equal. Well sir, being liberated and being equal are two different things. Descrimination is also different than inequality, as inequality is a constant fact of diversity in nature.
Reaction is not mainly based on one’s own experiences so much as the deeper automatic neurological nature of the individual, of which is entirely dependant upon the particular gene and the particular race.
Pain tolerance/etc doesn’t significantly differ across “races”, scientific studies have not shown conclusively that dirt-poor villages have levels of happiness higher than first world countries. No, I don’t believe all people ‘suffer’ equally, despite the tendency for humans to make their suffering what the world revolves around.
Do middle-class people who move to africa suffer more with african problems than they suffered with their own problems previously? Most times, yes. (if forced to live in poor conidtions, anyway)
Genetic dispositions is true, but different ‘races’ don’t largely have that outside of medical conditions, which isn’t saying much about say, the brain.Theres black people more genetically realted to white people than other black people (depending which groups you choose). the genes that code for skin color differences/appearance differences are like 7 genes.
When we talk about different ‘races’ scientifically, humans are no where genetically diverse enough to be cut up into different ‘races’ its a political term, it doesn’t accurately reflect the amount of genetic differences between human groups.
just like a stomach, different ‘races’ all have the same mental adaptations as us, because any complex adaptation, in a group of longed lived apes, seems to become species typical. Including say, stomachs, and adaptations for cognition. Theres no massive variability in cognition due to biology across ‘races’ because any such thing would have been under the same influences as any adaptation under natural selection, it would become species typical.
thats why we have basically the same emotional/cognitive makeup across races, because deviations in such that were advantageous, would have spread across allgroups, thats just the way adaptations work, ,exposed by modern evolutionary biology. If people want to make racist claims, you must first overhaul modern evolutionary biology.
(not that there can’t be small cognitive differences but nothing worth talking about)
Not certain about this… according to research made by this one guy pretty much all of africa is unhappy: le.ac.uk/users/aw57/world/sample.html (scroll down for a map)
However, I’m not entirely convinced. I wonder what would happen if we would take people without their basic needs out of the data. The differences would be at least significantly less pronounced. I think that your points hold when we only look at people who don’t need to worry about food/water/shelter.
