Not sure exactly where this fits; could be “Natural Sciences”, could be “Religion”. Both, really. Anyway, it’s an interesting doctoral dissertation that surveyed the attitudes and beliefs about science and religion of 150 evolutionary biologists in universities in the US, Europe, Canada and elsewhere. The final version according to the web site (www. cornellevolutionproject.org) isn’t yet available for publication in book form, but I’m linking to a brief video of the author describing the study (requires a high speed connection) and on the web site you can read the questions that he asked and a .pdf summary of the survey results. His general finding isn’t really all that surprising, except that it sort of is, considering how these scientists have come to resolve the inherent conflicts between the two in their minds.
Yes you are right, it isn’t surprising what he had to say.
