Rogue military groups do not have the facilities to manufacture weapons grade uranium or plutonium. You don’t just bang together a nuclear reactor with some rusty tools and a few pieces of wood out in the middle of the desert. The only way any of these jokers would ever get the bomb is if they bought it from a first world country… and a first world country is not broke, so they don’t need the money… nor do they want some rogue military group blowing up an economic partner or potential customer who’ll buy their blue jeans.
Nuclear war will never happen. It’s over-kill. If you want to stop an enemy you sabatoge their infrastructure, economy, and their dollar, or you wage a little germ warfare. Nuclear weapons are passe; they are only kept for defensive measures.
And neither one of those countries would ever launch a nuclear attack on another country. They aren’t making the weapons to be used, but to be admired as a superpower status symbol in the global, political arena. The same thing happens when a wealthy homeowner tries to buy a bigger riding lawn mower than the guy next door. Same psychology, different symbol.
And what are the chances of a random/accidental mutation occurring every so often over hundreds of millions of years always resulting in an increase in length of the Giraffes neck?
You are looking at it backward. It is so because it was possible to be so. If it was not possible to be so, it wouldn’t be so.
You’re not going to find a single vertebrate with wheels for legs.
I have no idea. But what would be the only other alternative theory to explain the giraffe? That it suddenly appeared out of thin air fully formed like it is. Of course neither theory can be proved… but which one would you consider more likely based on the things we do know about biology and evolution?
Also, would it be strange if many other species existed which appeared to be an anatomical intermediate stage between the giraffe and another similar, shorter necked mammal? Yes it would. It would suggest a genetic relation between them.
Giraffes having a longer neck is not described as a genetic defect, or a negative mutation. The number of negative mutations outweigh the amount of positive ones.
A mutation is judged as positive if enables to organism to better thrive to its environment. Many positive mutations, such as immunity to viruses, occur at the loss of genetic information. A positive mutation that occurs from an increase in genetic information is rare, and is only possible through polyploidy, a rare event.
Evolution is not impossible, but improbable. After only 3 billion years at most evolution would not go much further than the bacteria stage, such as with the bacteria in the ice glaciers on planet Mars.
Fossil evidence indicates dinosaurs were alive at the time of humans. Through the multiverse a world and deity could have been created with already existent DNA codes, as they would have millions of worlds to evolve upon. Earth was not one of these worlds.
