“Mother Courage and Her Children” by Bertolt Brecht. I have never actually seen it performed but I have read it. I find it very interesting in that it breaks away from many of the norms in theater. For example very little props are used, instead of narrators cue cards are held up for the crowd to read and very simple music was used. The idea was to keep the audience from getting to emotionally involved with the story. This way the audience realizes the moral of the story. Quite interesting stuff. I really should get more of Brecht’s work.
