Does anyone here have a favorite Musical?
Funny Girl. I know every word to evey song and sing them all after only two drinks. It is my part and parcel of my MO. Actually, I am known for it in the tri-state area. .

Cannibal the musical.
State Fair (the Jean Craine version, not the Bobby Darren one, at least I think it was Bobby).
But it’s hard to keep it at just one cause I love On A Clear Day You Can See Forever, Funny Girl, and My Fair Lady.
My Fair Lady is brilliant!
“Those slippers!”
“I didn’t think it meant any difference now”
A truly, deeply, sad ending.

Does Cannibal: The Musical count?
“Most men are the marrying sort, poor devils.” Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady.

The Fantastiks!
“Henry Higgins: Now, try it again.
Eliza Doolittle: The rine in spine sties minely in the pline.
Henry Higgins: The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain.
Eliza Doolittle: Didn’t I sy that?
Henry Higgins: No, Eliza, you didn’t “sy” that, you didn’t even “say” that, now every night before you get into bed, where you used to say your prayers, I want you to say “The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain” fifty times. You’ll learn to get much further with the Lord if you learn not to offend His ears.”
Ha! Ha!

Jesus Christ Superstar - the film version (though I have never seen the film). It is a tragedy: Judas is the tragic hero. But Pilate is my favorite character:
ironic sense of tragedy… pilate doesn’t even have a glider let alone a plane…

As far as not serious musicals, I’d have to vote for Rocky Horror Picture Show or The Producers.
Serious? Maybe Phantom of the Opera, but I don’t watch musicals very often.
Whenever someone asks this question I always seem to forget how much I love Gypsy too.
oh, I love The Producers. You know, CreationImperfect–I still have never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I’m going to have to once and for all make time for that one.
Hells yeah dood, that show rocks, just try to remember.
All that Jazz.
the best ever.
Kropotkin
I don’t know if this will count because its fairly modern, but The Who’s “Tommy” was good.
Of course The Wall must be mentioned too.
Les Miz. By far.
