Since poor people tend not to invest in the stock market, this is good for them. The wealthy who have investments in the market aren’t as wealthy and the gap between the rich and poor has narrowed.
I don’t see how the current economic crisis is good for the poor, regardless of whether or not they invest in the stock market. And the wealthy, it would seem, aren’t the ones who are most affected, as most of them are probably well diversified and mostly in safety. I would say it is those who have a 401K and are depending on that money for retirement that are most affected, and I don’t think most people with 401k’s are “wealthy.”
That’s just my opinion.
