Foley resigns from Congress over e-mails

WASHINGTON - Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla., abruptly resigned from Congress on Friday in the wake of questions about e-mails he wrote a former teenage male page.

“I am deeply sorry and I apologize for letting down my family and the people of Florida I have had the privilege to represent,” he said in a statement issued by his office.

ABC News reported Friday that Foley also engaged in a series of sexually explicit instant messages with current and former teenage male pages. In one message, ABC said, Foley wrote to one page: “Do I make you a little horny?”

In another message, Foley wrote, “You in your boxers, too? … Well, strip down and get naked.”

Foley, as chairman of the Missing and Exploited Children’s Caucus, had introduced legislation in July to protect children from exploitation by adults over the Internet. He also sponsored other legislation designed to protect minors from abuse and neglect.

Wow, a Republican hiding their crimes in plain sight - how novel.

I can’t wait to hear how this is all some liberal propaganda.

GOP, GRAND OLD PEDEPHILES.

Oh, by the way, the republicans in congress knew
about this pedophile months ago and did nothing.
The GOP is about protecting pedophiles.
So of course what is the justice department doing about
a clear pedophile. NOTHING. Foley has just gone home
and the justice department has done nothing to investigate
this sexual predator. Its nice to see what the GOP stand on morals
really mean, we investigate your morals, not ours.

The GOP protects pedophiles, thieves who steal millions from
taxpayers (haliburton) corruption (abramoff) and defends
torture.

K: soliciting teenagers in sexual matters does violate
the sexual predators laws. He cannot solicit children
which he did and at least 5 former pages have come forward
and said he was inapproate with them.
