Fools

But an error is out of ignorance. The ‘intelligent’ person who errs has over-stepped his/her understanding. A fool is a fool. The wise are those who know when they don’t know and remain silent.

A little wise the best fools be…

A fool is someone who thinks that by speaking much, he is going to be perceived as wise.

A fool is someone who spends time and effort trying to make himself look wise to others. A truly wise person, on the otherhand, does not need to do this: it comes naturally.

A fool is what we all are. A fool is someone who spends time asking unanswerable questions. A fool is a philosopher. He spends his time, dabbling in the abstract of life. He thinks that he gains from his efforts; despite the fact that his musings rarely ever produce tangible “fruits” for him.

…Or at least, this is how “normal” people might view us.

Let’s face it guys: we are the rag-tag, poorly-orgainzed, enlightened preservers of philosophy’s future.

We are all fools. As long as we can know that there is knowledge that we do not know, then only a God can be considered to be “truly wise”.

Just my humble opinions, anyways…

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt.
Abraham Lincoln

If I really believed that the mass of fools would listen to me, I would myself be a complete fool. Therefore, I leave them alone, without attempting to enlighten them. The truth is none of them are interested anyway.
Chuang Tzu

The Wise don’t blame the sword that pierces them or the brick that falls on them. They seek the cause of their misfortunes in their own imperfections.
Chuang Tzu

Being a good listener spares one the burden of giving advice.
Lao Tzu

Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us could not succeed. –Mark Twain

‘Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.’

 • Plato

Those who think they are intelligent are fools, therefor those who think they are fools are intelligent.

how does one fall under that category? for can it not be that an act can be considered foolish by one but intelligent by another?

Which is better, to say someting that is foolish and learn someting from the feedback or say nothing and look intelligent?
