For evil to grow, all your good God needs do is nothing.

And it certainly appears that nothing is what he is doing.

If it is true that for evil to grow, all good people need do is nothing, ----then it is also true that for evil to grow, all a good God needs do is nothing as well.

God gave Satan dominion over us and the power to deceive us all. We do not have the power to fight his God given power any more than we can fight God.

Should God be fighting the power he gave Satan as he is the only one who can?

If good God does not fight that evil for us then evil cannot shrink on earth. That would mean that it will inevitably grow along with the population.

Why has God rigged things for all of us to end in hell thanks to Satan’s great God given deception powers?

The story, as told, seems to have a catch 22 created by the church as a way for the church to create fear within us in order to enhance the fleecing of the sheep?

Could that be why the church and bible have God doing such heinous deeds like giving Satan dominion over us along with the power to deceive us all?

Is that what a good God would do? I doubt it.

So what is the church really teaching us?

Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

If God continues to do nothing but hinder mankind, can evil be reduced or can we only watch evil grow as God does nothing?

And thus you should believe that if Man thought that he was God, that would be a fantasy, right?

God is making it clear to Man that Man is not God.
And the more he tries to be, the more it will hurt when he discovers the truth of it.

God is;
“Clarifying, Verifying, Instilling, and Reinforcing” the fact that Man is not God.

Of course, since you believe there is no such thing as God, you already know that.
But Man doesn’t… yet.

When raising a child you must only hold their hand at certain times. Other times they must face the world and when they do you are there to only give words of wisdom and love. You don’t protect them from the world, you teach them how to prosper, love and live in the world.
Hell must be known, felt and understood in order to overcome. A god would know this. Parents wish fervently to protect their children but, knowledge must be gained no matter how hard it may be to see your child in pain in the present, the future must be considered.

And 3Sum, since you seem to be unaware, your “Spaghetti Monster” example was a poor choice. The Spaghetti Monster is more real to you than the God. The Spaghetti Monster represents the CIA or Homeland Security type of “monster” with “tentacles” “everywhere”, “knowing all things”, who can “do anything”. Many accept that the Biblical God is merely the first of such “monsters”. And such monsters certainly do exist, although to me are merely “God-wannabes” who don’t want you to believe in any higher God than them, and would prefer that you not really believe they exist either.

I believe in a God concept but it does not match your God concept so before asking if I believe in God, we would have to define it by our first hand knowledge.

Let’s put all that can be fathomed of the unfathomable God. Oops, there is nothing there.

Look who’s talking. OP is speaking about evil and you strawmanned the argument and started talking about parenting.

Our world is full of evil and hardships (which is in itself an argument against a benevolent god), parents sometimes must be strict to prepare children for such a tough world, I don’t see how that makes them evil.

A god causing a process such as evolution which made billions of organisms suffer and die even though he could have done otherwise (since he is omnipotent and omniscient, right?) is something I’d call evil. A god not helping a child getting raped by a pedophile is evil. A god designing diseases such as smallpox and black plague is an evil god in my book.

I can go on listing evils god has caused for a long time, I even made a thread about PoE here quite similar to this one.

The point of this thread is basically the major point about god - he does nothing. The supposedly most powerful and knowledgable being in existence… does nothing. What would you do if you had the power of god? Would you really not make any changes at all? If you could stop all the evils in the world easily, without any effort at all would you not do it?

Indeed. Have you noticed in Eden how God murdered A & E through neglect when they tried to learn a bit about the world.

Humans are better parents than that O. T. God. Most of us do not kill them for going to school and trying to learn.
