What do you think about what is happening in the financial markets? It is how Bush now is supporting government intervention (I thought he was against government intervention) to help the struggling financial markets.
Why does the government readily help the wealthy? Wouldnât the less fortune be grateful for such government intervention into their condition?
For the record, the government bought 80% of AIG. Itâs not like theyâre giving them tax-payer money for free. They bought the company. Most analysts are saying the government will profit from the transaction (INOW - the taxpayers will profit) in the long run.
For the less fortunate, it might be equivalent to the government buying 80% of the equity in your home in order to pay your debts, rather than selling the whole thing and kicking you out.
I mean, yes you donât have to move, but you donât own the house anymore, either.
According to Mr. Bush government intervention is necessary and without government intervention things will be worse, why will things be worse?
I think the government is just holding up the economy right now, but it can only do so for so long before everything crashes like the 1930s. This bailout is just temporary fix for deeper problems.
The u.s economy is floated with drugs and invasions. iâs like a big hollow shell of an organisation, keeping up appearance only to confuse its slaves and opponents.
It has no affect on their salaries. Only Congress can change the Presidentâs salary, itâs not like he gets a commission on anything that the government buys.
I believe Congress can alter their own salaries, but I donât believe it takes effect until the next Congressional term.
In terms of career I also disagree, I mean, the President isnât going to get a promotion or anything like that, he has already gone as far politically as anyone can go. The Senate and House have also reached the maxim in the legislative branch. Besides, less government control would mean less potential for the government to make a bad decision, that would theoretically be good for a politicianâs career.
