Fuck I love March Madness
You and me both. For the last 5 or 6 years, I have
gone to vegas to watch opening weekend of march
madness. this year because of the surgery, I didn’t,
and man, I miss it. but its nice to be able to watch
the games without worrying about anything.
But my fun is next week when baseball begins its
season. I live for baseball.

Baseball is slow.
Old_Gobbo:Baseball is slow."
Kropotkin: baseball is not slow. You just think so
because you are young. When you are young you want
things to be fast and exciting. It looks like Washington will
lose to U conn. Anyway, I love baseball because you can guess
along with the manager and decide on strategy, just as
well as he can. Yep, Washington will lose with 11.3 seconds
left and 4 points down. But then I love all sports even
underwater basket weaving, which was my major in collage.

See that jump there?
When I’m old baseball will still be slow. All the statistics fascination stems from the fact that its a slow, stagnant, steroid riddin sad excuse for a sport.
It’s fun to play sober, it’s fun to play drunk. It’s fun to watch drunk sometimes, but it’s definately not fun to watch sober.
I also find baseball to be boring. Cricket is much better.
hmm
I’ve heard of cricket games lasting like 3 days so I’ll take that as sarcastic.
::sigh::
Boys and sports. I don’t get it.
And you never will.
Oh, like you’re Mr. Basketball knowledge guy all of the sudden.
It’s not unlike boys and philosophy.
ever see a checkers game that played itself?
of course half of the crickets used were albino…

Zzzz - Cricket…? Huh…? Wassat…? - zzzZ
On March Madness. - I think I got so many games wrong in my brackets, I may have set a record.
On basball. - I understand when people say it’s boring; but then, I know people who think football is boring, who think hockey is boring, etc. No, baseball is not exactly a ‘high-action’ sport; I relate it much more to golf in that its appeal is more geared to a lazy, muggy, Sunday afternoon; or having a game on the radio while you do some yardwork: it’s about relaxation. ‘Sit back and watch a ballgame’. Truly one of life’s sweet pleasures.
Girls and makeup. I just don’t get it.
Sports are a way of proving your manliness and expressing your style/taste, just like makeup or dressing up are a way of expressing your feminine beauty and your visual taste. Sports are also fun to discuss because a lot of time you know someone personally involved in the game, and so you want them to win, or maybe they’re from your hometown, etc. I don’t personally follow sports, but that’s just the impression I get. For a lot of people, it’s a common ground that you can discuss with total strangers or close friends. Additionally, sports are a way of exhausting energy that you normally wouldn’t living a sedentary lifestyle.
That help?
On second thought, sports aren’t quite like dressing up. They’re more like discussing the lives of celebrities. A lot of the time, they are just that.
And perhaps the most important reason that it matters to men:
Competition!
I watch replays of RTS tournaments for the same reason lots of guys watch sports on TV. To be impressed, dissapointed, whatever the experience may do to me. To brag to my friends, to feel proud, to feel competative, etc.
Girls and shoes. I’ll never get it. I’ve bought a total of 3 pairs of shoes in the last 2 years. In that time the average British woman has bought 30 pairs of shoes. Given that the average (British) woman earns 5-10% less money over a lifetime yet spends an estimated 10-25% more than the average man spends over a lifetime I’m starting to wonder about whether we’ve conceived of the ‘economic gender bias’ in anything like an accurate fashion.
I don’t get people…or cricket…or excessive clothe shopping…or the work ethic…or bill payment…evidently, I still have much to learn…
No, those are all logical reactions.

No, those are all logical reactions.
On the contrary they are quite without reason…
