Fundamental assumptions ?

Amongst many crackpot ideas in this thread (and others) there are some points that may be relevant:

  1. We are unsure today how the system (whatever that means) will evolve, in the sense of following along a straight line of increase GDP - Capitalism - Technology - Globalization etc. There are many oddball instabilities, there is pressure on resources, there are deep problems on what kind of “work” or “activity” is ultimately worthwhile;

  2. There are hard political - cultural problems, a system where millions of people have say on everything, “want to count” etc doesn’t make much sense;

  3. There are problems on too many people wanting to “make a difference” and “wanting to work” and consume, when ultimately this creates more confusion and decreasing returns; too many people creating “innovation” and “new products” that create confusion and don’t genreate much improvements ?
    Shouldn’t we just optimize and refine the basics like housing - water - infrastructures ?

  4. is there even anything as a general, “social good” anyways ? Shouldn’t it be everyone out for themselves ?

Anyways, there are many things that aren’t very clear…
