I thought this deserves its own thread.
We can speculate allot about what the world will be like in 100 years.
Personally, I think technology is allot like power, it brings out our inner desires and natures. During the world wars, technology amplified the ill will. But in other ways, technology amplifies education and medicine. I don’t think there will be a third world war any time soon, because of how the hidden military factions are basically having a cold war with aliens. At least that is what I think. I think chances are high of it. They try to control the world too, but they are focusing mainly on trying to match the destructive and defensive capacity of various aliens they have learned of.

The future? Yes by all means the future! We mustn’t feel down because our chiildhood being one we never had one worthwile, but yes, there are some doomsayers that messed up their life to such an extent that they would nothing better then blow this world up, well at least part of iit,

A calm inside, a pleasing natural countenance, and most of all it shouldn’t matter that we suspect we too know that they suspect us knowing (that they are alines). From now on, it’s a charade into the future:

Otherwise, the future is bleak or there is no future. The crazyness that the thought of a possible peace=love,(which knowing not fear or envy) evokes, should not at all get in the way of concurrently holding—a slight doubt. But I can live with that.
I’m not suggesting that aliens are evil, but I think that the hidden hand despots know about them by now, and have even captured a few. They see them as a big threat to their control, at least potentially. This little play of society and modern thought could shift at any time, because of how the mass media works and also if any aliens truly wanted to be known, they could probably reveal themselves.
I will go back to that importance thread, in a few moments.

I was always suspicious why certain groups like Jim jones's group in Central America was such a big threat,or Waco in Texas for that matter, but like Gobbo, I have come to realize that consiracies are gone, with the rest of history.
I do see it functioning this way, but I also see it doing precisely the opposite via numbing, distracting, stressing, overwhelming, addicting, replacing (actions and processes that actually feel better) and so on. And then there are technologies specifically made to shut down, control, remove, and likely soon genetically prevent our inner desires and natures.
Yeah there’s the dark side of the force to watch out for, but who doesn’t wanna become a jedi, despite its consequences?
I would speculate that in a hundred years, we’ll be an asexual species. Gender differences will be eradicated. A new method of replication found. Cultures obliterated to achieve the liberal utopia of a “humanity” & human brotherhood, all cultural & racial difference eradicated & “corrected” using technology. Past forgotten, mediocrity promoted. Natural selection erased as selection implies a prejudice and uniformity should be, as it is, your highest virtue.
Total Uniformity is achieved. A one world utopia, a brotherhood of children.
In a hundred years, the world will be like the movie IDIOCRACY, which is proving to be more and more prophetic. Can it become any more clear that the dumbed down citizenry of America- one of the most dumbest countries on the planet. One that is uniformly incompetent, harried, distracted, desensitized, promiscuous…etc… This dumbing-down phenomenon can be witnesses across the Anglosphere.
I just hope there would be inter-stellar space travel by then, so there would be some hope for the intelligent members among the human species.

What do you think produces growth? is it comfort? feeling warm & fluffy? feeling dandy? … Or could it be that ‘challenge’ is what produces growth? challenge is often associated with conflict. You have to invent new technologies to conquer your adversaries. Even the internet you are using is a cold war invention.
When you denounce war, violence, superior/inferior, male to male fierce competition, you are denouncing all things that made this civilization possible.
That does seem to be the path Liberal degeneration is moving towards.
Modernist thought promotes the idea that people intrinsically deserve every freedom, privilage and luxury without having to labor or suffer for it.
Take the whole concept of the Transhumanst movement, it’s drenched in Hedonist thought.

Indeed. But I don’t think the current situation is going to last long. The programming they’re trying to feed isn’t working on a lot of men. Civilizations go through cycles. Decadence is one of the final stages of cultural decline. The U.S. is going through it as we speak. The end stage of a culture, after it has passed through the phase of civilization, is decadence - hedonism, materialism, endless escape in logos.
Exactly. Most people choose to focus on the “benefits”, but never consider the price. Most people have no clue where these “rights” come from or what their justification is, they simply know that they must have them and advocate them to be normal, new age, modern, enlightened and progressive. They think they deserve compassion and consideration just because they look human, born with two legs & two hands. But appearances in any other case are superficial and cruel when used to judge or to distinguish, like race or gender.
The logic of the Judeo-Christian concept of humanism & the “reasoning” of liberalism is that,
All deserve to live
All deserve compassion
All deserve love
All deserve dignity
Discrimination is bad
Denying love to another is cruel
Those who do not think along these lines are called “backward thinking” “nazi” “evil” and excluded from this utopian concept of “humanity”. In this Judeo-Christian world, life is sacred, weakness is made into a virtue. But just because you are born, doesn’t mean you deserve to live, no more than a lamb deserves to be eaten. Just because you have a voice, doesn’t mean you have an opinion worth listening.
The post modern man finds comfort in leveling the world into dust, losing himself in the relief of nothingness. Nothing matters because nothing could be said about anything based on appearances. All that is left to do is to love each other, hug each other, and fornicate ourselves into oblivion.
All remain infantile, under the protective embrace of a system that milks them by offering them, like with cows, a fenced in enclosure and a path they must follow without question.
Such cows must feel pride in their production of milk.

I find this an odd analogy. (I’m not really a Star Wars fan, but my sense is that here we are talking about something like chi, the ability to harness and internal energy, for which one is very much responsible for. It is one’s life energy. This affects how one uses technology, but is not at all dependent on technology. I realize you were nto saying it was, but in fact it seems ironically to bring up what is not done now. We are replacing the will with technology. We are replacing direct contact with mediated contact. We are replacing learning by experience with learning via surfing. We are solving problems and conceiving of them via outside/technological solutions. I do not need to develop, I need to purchase the right new tech product. And most of these products are very outward oriented, distraction oriented, entertainment oriented. We are replacing the imagination and the developing of ‘the force’ with products. We are told from a very early age what our desires are and then offered the products to meet these desires. I see the inner being destroyed rather commonly by the overall trend.
For me personally the very notion of the dark side of the force, which is not really integrated, as far as I can tell, in SW, but judged as other and then killed out there, and resisted in the self via discipline, is a dangerous notion. I mean, it may help when the problem shows up speaking in a scary voice in a black outfit and tries to kill everyone you love, but other than that the dark side of the force is a part of what we need, need to integrate and not just stuff down in ourselves or fight with a light sword. I see this as not irrelevent to this issue of technology because that habit is very much a part of technology. Eradicate the bad. Short term, newtonian level analysis of the effects of the solution.
Technology seems primarily to be developing along consumerist created desire lines and not really helping us develop from the inside out.
