George W. Bush is the finest DONUT of our generation

Do you like Krispy Kreme donuts?

  • Yes, tasty hot or cold!
  • Ugh, too sweet and overhyped!
  • Mmmm… donuts.

Made you look!

you bitch :sunglasses:

He’s certainly the best US president of this century…

And the best president of the millennium!!

And of the last two weeks (extending the joke that other way)…

man what is wrong with those last three posts…

the whole reason i looked at this thread was cause i was like “no he isn’t!”

Check again…

An irony.

On the one hand a leader’s mistakes have a way of gaining a peoples sympathy, and also is a kind of bonding through a mutuality; “he’s human too” is a sentiment which unites people and is something in common. We can listen or watch a great leader conducting a speech or an event who makes a small mistake, and ironically increase our liking of him because of it.

The contrary sense is that someone of such a great importance should be expected to be as close to ideal or perfect, as an example, to whomever it is he leads. This notion leaves us with very little tolerance for mistakes, and we expect that our leaders at least know how to talk and spell right.

But it is these very morsels which allow us the irony of appreciating a leader and his efforts, even if he makes a mistake, because we liken our leaders to ourselves; a prejudice. It should not be because we make mistakes that our leaders mistakes are tolerated, because in being a leader one has higher expectations.

American politics is in love with the image persona and media personality of its leaders. Our presidents are usually puppets who do not think of or write their material, have little ‘philosophical’ experience, and are often complete morons. Here is the irony. That is the intention of the politics of leadership where egalitarianism is practiced.

But is it not the very distinction between the gifted leader and the common follower that creates the possibility for greatness to be identified, for leaders to be picked and distinguished?

Not in this capitalism consumerist world economy fashion show it ain’t. Sometimes I wonder if the speech mistakes and general media scandal over something trivial and silly isn’t planned after all; a way of gaining admiration from other flakes- the people- with all the same “human” problems.

Clinton’s blow-job was perfect. In one swell stoop below his desk, Monica identified the leader of a great nation with the typical common male consumer. That drama alone was enough to make him a star…

…while other countries laughed at us, and not with us.

detrop makes a cute speech but the reality is
george bush lite is leading both the most corrupt and
the most inept administration we have seen since
1920. The corruption I have tried to spell out, but the
ineptness is being highlighted by the 9/11 commission
and the Katerina coverage and Iraq seems to cover both
corruption and ineptness. Bushes economic plan only
helps the wealthy, while the lower classes lose ground
in income, slowness in job growth, being shut out of housing
markets, and in the increasingly losing companies pensions plans.

I look forward to the day when I can tell my grandchildren that
I lived through the worst president in modern times (civil war).

Kropotkin

Gosh, thanks.

Or at least the most corrupt and inept since the last one.

And lest the thread hijackers prevail, I don’t like Krispy Kremes at all. Really overrated Starbucks-style cookie cutter crap.

‘Everything is relative’ (your motto)

‘reality is relative’

‘Corruptness and ineptness are relative’

‘Coverage is relative, and biased’

‘Wealth is relative’

‘Grandchildren are relative’ (pun very much intended)

Hardly, I’d like to see you prove this one. Since the Civil War? Hahaha.

Boo sir.

well, considering he’s been the only president so far, that’s not really saying much.

xanderman,

I have a feeling when the conservatives get booted out of the congress next year, they’ll be some hell to pay. Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld…

all going down. It could happen sooner if the current majority doesn’t continue to obstruct justice. And it’s funny how they compare lying about starting a war, running a torture camp, and trying to inundate us with the UN-patriot act to getting a Blow Job from an intern, and lying about it.

All lies are not created equal.

And if they are, how does Bush deserve special treament for his lying while you tried to frog march clinton?

Most likely they were jealous that he got lewinski’d

You cannot blame Bush for these bad decisions, He is acting on the advice of his military commanders, so it is THEIR fault, not his. Oh and he was acting on advice from a college professor for his key to victory in Iraq. How is it his fault? He does not have to accept responsibilty for the people he hires to tell him what he should do, does he? You know, it is funny I bet I could sell someone a new car for five bucks, I don’t think I would have to put a gun to their heads and MAKE them take it. I still say he needs to go visit Manson, and learn how to convince people to do his bidding, it would sure make his job easier. :unamused:

I think we’re getting a little of topic. The poll was in relation to the enjoyment of Krispy Kreme donuts. Now personally I’m all about them they are ta awesome.

PK: I hope it didn’t hurt too much when you were jumping up and
down shouting, “look how clever I am” and then patting yourself
on your back as congratulations on “how clever I am”.
This is a cute trait in the young as it helps build self-esteem,
but as one gets older, one should have enough self-esteem to
avoid unseemly attempts to show the world how clever one is.

Kropotkin

Dammit Kropotkin stop straying from the true topic donuts.

“gecota:Dammit Kropotkin stop straying from the true topic donuts.”

Kropotkin: I HATE DONUTS.
Is that clear enough for ya.
Now cupcakes, ho ho’s, and twinkies,
that is a horse of a different color.
Let the debate begin.
