Do you believe? If so, what is their place in the cosmos or spiritual world if there is a heaven/hell? Does the existence of ghosts call upon us to re-evaluate the after-life?
Frankly, I have had a few unexplainable experiences in my old home. While I am tempted to believe, I try to be a skeptic and apply rational explanation. I find myself watching shows like Ghost Hunters and tell myself it is all fake, yet a part of me wants to believe some of it.
I believe. I have had too many experiences, and a couple where I found out things I could not have otherwise. I think they are portions of people. Not the whole shabang. Not even all of the soul. Generally troubled and confused, but some are pretty nasty.
i think that energy-based, non-solid lifeforms are the main forms of life in this universe.
They evolved somehow, because outer space is more hospitable to them than it would be to organic physical life.
The ones i believe in are not ghosts par-se; many live in stars.
A ghost could be defined phenomenologically as the experience of the presence of a deceased person. Shortly after my girlfriend’s father died, we went to his house. Although I never met him I sensed his presence there. The sensation persuaded me to treat his things with reverance. After my mother died, I sensed her presence everywhere for days. It’s not that I believe in ghosts, but I have had these experiences.
When they come and visit as a ghost BEFORE you have even heard they are dead and they look confused and disoriented, that’s when it shuffles past mere phenomenology. Hell, she woke me up and pressed on my eyes like too much sunlight. Then she got confused and looked around. I think that’s when she started realizing she was dead. I didn’t realize it until they called from the other coast the next day to tell me she was dead.
I had relayed in another thread concerning Ghosts about unexplained phenomena that happened in my house. Particulalry in the kitchen area that both my wife and me witnessed.
