glasses-some one is lying to me

iv heard two “facts” abot glasses and i dont know who to turn to. rumor 1. if you need glasses and dont wear them you vision will get worse faster. rumor 2. if you need glasses but dont wear them your eyes will stay stronger longer. rumor 3. if you have glasses and only wear them when you need the, (driving or reading, movies or dinner) you vision will be just fucking fine, dont fucking worry sexy. can anyone verify (an eyegician maybe?)

what im trying to ask is : do i need to wear my glasses 24. ?

Of course it depends on your prescription, but in my case I didn’t wear my glasses as much as i was meant to and my sight got worse

This is a good question. As far as I know vision is affected by the shape of the eye itself. If this is the case, then how can looking through glasses affect that?

Wear them whenever you can’t see the things you want to see. If that’s all the time… then do it all the time.

Precisely because the degree of the curvature of the ball determines the degree of your prescription, you want to put no stretching further constrain on the ball, by means of wearing glasses 24. Chances are, which ever way, it’s likely to get worse for most people.

A laser operation is what you should spend your Xams hit-and-run part time earnings on.

do you guys trust lasers?..is it a one time thing or do you have to get re lasered every 10 years? also what if they miss your eyes? if my teeth get 20/20 before my eyes, to certain somebodys are going to be jelous.

Whenever you need to squint when you want to see something, you should be wearing your glasses. If you squint most of the day, you should be wearing them 24/7.

I had glasses as a child and stopped wearing them because I was being teased, now I’m the only adult in my family that does not wear glasses. I cannot think of even one adult family member that doesn’t wear glasses; that’s pretty mind boggling when I think about it… must be bad genes.

My mom got it done (a while ago actually) and she was fine… it is a one time thing, she said it was incredible… the vision, it is way better than glasses/contacts.

I would imagine it’s now cheaper and even more safe then when she got it.
I say if you have the money, and you are above the age of like… 23 or something, it’s a solid investment.

Doctor Laser, patients of the 21th century, is your new man. Old_Gobbo made a point about its cost-effectiveness, which should push you closer under the operation machine, GalacticHeart, your teeth will be fine.

The newest laser surguries are extremely advanced and surprisingly economical, with very very minimal risk of side effects. A good friend of mine had it done six or seven years ago by one of the leaders in the field (trained about 1/3 of the docs in North America). He’s been delighted with the results.

I’m nearsighted and have worn glasses or contacts for years. I’m strongly leaning towards having the surgury myself. Only two things are holding me back: 1) I’m a complete coward and 2) the same money would by me a Bel Canto eVo6i Gen II Tripath amp or custom made Salk Veracity speakers for my audio rig. A man’s gotta keep his priorities straight.

is there any known cases of a drunk doctor ruining someons eyes?

What is sad, is we have the technology to fix everyones eyes, yet, there are still people like me who have to wear glasses and contacts. Another prime example supporting “money first”.

No matter how cheap it gets some won’t do it, David. Like me- I could afford it but I always have some excuse not to do it. Mostly I don’t like the idea a laser cutting into my eyes! :astonished:

I heard of one once… but apparently he couldn’t pick out which doctor did it

EDIT: I just realized that this is in Psychology Forum. I wouldn’t have posted something stupid had I have known but… WTF has requesting info about reading glasses got to do with Psychology??? Come on guys, how about only posting serious topics in these forums?

My girlfriend’s dad is an eye surgeon, I’ll ask her for information and get back to you all.

I found some valuable information from a website about nutrition for healthy eyes:
