Having watched the contortions of the various protagonists in this debate, I can now see how various of our ancestors ended up performing human sacrifices in order to placate the sun gods.
We know the globe is warming. We know that the greenhouse effect is real. We know that carbon dioxide, a greenhouse gas, is being increased by humans. We should not be surprised that this has a warming effect. Human beings in general are affecting the climate. So I ask you, what would constitute “definitive evidence” for you?
I have my doubts about size of the effect human-generated carbon dioxide is having on our planet too but to me the whole GW argument is irrelevant.
Pollution is not good for us FULL STOP – so we should reverse the trend a.s.a.p.
Whether it’s a major contributor to the current warming of the planet or responsible for destroying the WTC towers is simply political grand standing and self indulgent. We need to reverse the amount of shit going into our skies, rivers, oceans, landfills. food chain and lungs NOW.
If we clean up our environment then later find that it had no effect on the rising temperatures and waters, then at least we will drown in clean water and that has to be better.
OK so the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere has gone up from 220ppm to 329ppm, or whatever the correct figure is. The only other FACT that I have seen is that the amount of sunlight reaching the earth’s surface has decreased by 16 per cent in the last 50 years or so.
So, maybe, the CO2 or the pollution is blocking the sunlight and without it goodness knows how much warming we would be experiencing. We just don’t know.
But 2,000? odd years ago someone claimed he did know and they promptly went about topping their fellow man.
Whats up with that last paragraph? I dont understand who you are alluding to… if it is jesus, then why?
Also, the only fact that you know could be due to a lack of research. The affects of CO2 on the Earth are pretty dramatic. Throughout history ice house and green house time periods are marked by a lower, in the case of ice house, and a higher, in the case of green house, levels of CO2 in the atmostphere. If one were to look at a graph showing temp. levels and concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere they would notice their direct relation. By burning fossil fuels we are acting as a catalyst on this system.
Ok, maybe this strategy is a little out there… but at least I pay attention to historical precedence.
Living in a time like we do, with the Clintons and the Bushes, and all of the newage Straussians’ who buy into, and pepetuate his big lie which at this point has completely overshadowed any semblance of the true political actions to the normal every day citizen, we do we not truly recognize this? This isn’t conspiracy theory so much as the fact that there is simply so much going on out there (all in public potential viewing from the internet) that the stuff which isn’t on mainstream news simply falls through the cracks and doesn’t get heard.
We’re all smart people here I think it’s time we woke up a little bit.
Anytime someone like Gore (who is married into the Rothschilds – the family who runs the earth) suddenly makes a movie about fucking global warming and it automatically wins best documentary then in my mind I start with the assumption that whatever we’ve been told is completely wrong, and that whatever it is that’s in that movie (I haven’t even seen it) is the last thing we should be looking at.
Same with 9/11, and everything else.
Does this not make sense to anyone? Why the hell are we listening to these people when we know that it’s a lie?
From DylanLW (Whats up with that last paragraph? I dont understand who you are alluding to… if it is jesus, then why?)
No, not him. What is up with that paragraph is my dating. The human sacrifices in Central America, at whatever date they occurred, were, it would appear, in part, provoked by doubts that the sun would keep behaving itself.
The point I was trying to make is that Homo Sapiens has a habit of taking ludicrous actions because of a belief in something that is completely false.
The Global Warming debate seems to have our politicians rushing around like headless chickens.
That is a loaded sentence!
“Our politicians†I guess would refer to the politicians who completely ignored all warnings for decades and
did not give a damn about human or environmental consequences until an economist report stated that up to
twenty percent of worldwide production will be wiped out.
Simply put your reference on politicians rushing on warming debate is incorrect.
They are rushing to save corporate profits.
Part two!?
The same scientists and energy lobbies arguing against the existence of global warming just a few years ago
suddenly discovered that all of the planets in the solar system are warmed up.
Suddenly they have a dozen of different explanation for something not even happening.
Your vision of ignorance really jumps to the forefront considering that some of those headless chicken might
help to minimize some effects of global warming regardless of the ‘origin’ question.
An other ‘headless chicken’ act what I guess you do not believe in:
NASA/NOAA satellite data showing the rise in stratospheric chlorine and corresponding decline in ozone layer thickness from 1979 to 1997.
As stratospheric chlorine declined in response to enactment of the Montreal Protocol, the first stage of ozone recovery began. theozonehole.com/
Nor is there any definative evidence in the reverse.
The salient point is that if you and all the other business-as-usual crowd are wrong and we do nothing, we all lose and what do you care?
The moral issue is clear. We are polluting the home planet and we should stop.
No self respecting steward would run an estate the way we are. There is not a specie of plant, animal or insect on land, in the sea or in the air, that we have not harmed to some extent - far too many of them to the point of complete extinction. The business of a good streward is to improve the family estate for the generations to come, not run it into the ground for short-term profits.
The new generation of engineering challenges required for large scale planet management on a sustainable basis, while factoring in future populstion increases as well, is the exact kind of shot in the arm that we all need to get out of the office ond off our fat butts and do something about it in the field. It is time we put our minds and hearts into realizing and actualizing a whole new 21st century paradigm.
This way we all win.
From a physicist who lost his job due to research fraud, to books on metaphysics, to Science 4 Kids, that paper truly has all the sources that I trust when it comes to hard-hitting scientific investigation.
More importantly, I think it is worth pointing out that the skull and bones are evidently better vote counters than the Rothschilds. Perhaps Shape-Shifting Lizards are at a natural disadvantage because they only have three fingers?
Hey - I’ll be pretty distraught as the rest of you will be.
I do agree we are ripping this planet to shreds. However, there’s not much we can do to actually reverse the process. The only true solution to man made global warming (if it exists) is an alternative renewable energy. Personally, I think we are lightyears from finding one but hey - we gotta start somewhere. Other than that, we have to let the earth do it’s thing. But that’s not to say human development should come to a standstill just because we hit a few bumps in the road. Because remember, everything is natural - it is impossible for something (within the universe) to be unnatural.
Global warming must effect memory in human beings as well.
Since my simple reference was ignored let me spell it out clearly.
There was and is a historical and very recent event and fix anti-global-economy-warmists don’t want to talk about.
Ozone.
Their was a serious degradation in the ozone layer of earth.
It was caused by human activity.
It was supposed to cost trillions to fix.
The ozone is nicely recovering thanks to the Montreal Accord.
If you go up to Everest whatever you take up you must bring down.
Why would that be different in Manhattan?
Every manufacturer and importer must be responsible for the recycling of all material and the recovery of pollution.
First of all, the ozone layer is not getting any better. Its not getting any worse either, and the montreal accord made it possible to heal, but that hasnt happened yet.
This issue, I guess because it has to do with the atmosphere, gets confused with global climate change. We cannot fully reverse what we have done to the climate because, as i have said before, we are acting as a catalyst on a natural system. The best that we can do is stop putting pollutents into the air, and start respecting the environment more.
Conveniently true. But what I said also remains painfully true. The absence of definative evidence is not proof of absence ( to coin a phrase by a scientist)
Yeah. But by then it will we too late - which is the point most do-nothings do not address.

Lunar energy generates over 5 billion HP (4.2 billion KWH) in the Gulf of California every six hours. Hows that for starters.
The consumer need, the technology, the unemployed man-power and the raw material is all there waiting to be used, not including the fact that such a vast project will employ all the labor Mexico can supply for a generation and relieve us of that problem. The only wrench in the works is an increasingly redundant artificial barrier called money. And while those tiny few who own and control most of it and are only interested in short-term ways to exploit the planet and make big profits, the planet, the infrastructure and the vast bulk of humanity will continue to deteriorate.
Mother Earth is doing Her thing. She has evolved a specie that is endowed with possibly the most creative brain in the Cosmos,. Our job is to level out the bumps and improve the estate.
I didn’t confuse global warming and the ozone layer.
It is only an example when human activity caused change on a global scale.
It is also a reference to the ‘economic cost’ argument not being true.
In case you want to see the effects follow the link.
Here it is again: theozonehole.com/
As for mother earth playing it’s role the amount of major storms increased and people are not believing in last years official story any more.
The British government went so far to deny the possible collapse of the Golf Stream. Would that be enough action from mother nature?
