God as a Global Brain

Brain is known to be an “array” of interacting components - neurons, whose interactions produce our mind. But the same can be said about other complex systems - societies, ecological systems - they too consist of multiple interacting components. So there is a good reason to think such systems have some kind of a “mind”, too.

But then - why don’t we experience this “higher-level” mind?
It may be that because our brain is much complex than higher-level structures, it dominates what we experience. That means, our intelligence becomes a roadblock when we try to merge with an uber-mind.

Ability to experience this higher-level mind would make us almost immortal. Do you agree that society, or even ecological system has a much longer lifespan than individual human being?

So to summarize. There exists a higher-level “mind” that is almost immortal, and from which we are separated by the burden of our intelligence. Looks like it can be a proof that God actually exists (and we became separated from God after the evolution made us smarter - the event Bible describes with an apple-eating metaphor)

Any comments, thoughts?

Though I’m not a theist, this is my favorite argument for theism. Though… is this really theism?
