what do people get out of a belief in god as a guy…please be specific…
I don’t get anything out of the belief that God is a guy. It’s too restrictive. IMHO God is all possible human relationships–father, mother, son, daughter, etc.

God as a man allows the portrayal of the father-child relationship and all that comes with it.
A powerful presence that could strike you down, but chooses to protect you. When they hurt you, it’s for your own good. Your continued existence is at their discretion, along with all aspects of your life, and your existence to begin with.
That’s what I see in it, as an Atheist.
